UCGO BUG

Bug with:

Arrow freighter ALT HOLD autopilot

Short description:

cursor keys interference between ALT HOLD and virtual cockpit panning

Severity

minor

Complete description

with ALT HOLD autopilot engaged cursor keys (up/down) control vertical velocity and in default orbiter keymap
ALT+CURSOR KEYS control view panning in virtual cockpit. If you try to pan view up and down with ALT+KEYS
interference will occur to vertical velocity settings.

Reproduce bug

In virtual cockpit view, engage ALT HOLD autopilot, then pan up or down using ALT+cursor keys combination (one or
more clicks) and you will get same amount of increase or decrease in VV setting

Miscallenous

Also, ALT HOLD autopilot automatically engages HOR LVL with no possibility to override.
I don't know if this is intentional but I think that it is much better to allow user to disengage for rolling or pitching the
ship.

Wondering if Dan is around? I haven't seen him here in a few days. I know he wasn't feeling well. Hopefully, just spending
time with family and friends for Christmas.

Now it's christmas time so I think I'll pause for two days then resume operation,
I'll update all the doc with your corrections the 26 then issue maybe a last beta
with last doc up (UCGO SDK) and finally issue a public beta and release.

Much thanks to all and happy christmas ! :friend:

will there be a french version ?

If a french guy is ready to translate the doc & help text we could release a french
"patch" that would overwrite the english files.

But voila, we would need a french guy ready to do that

Dan

depending of the length of the doc, (and the date of release) I could perhaps help you (if only teachers could understand
that holidays are a time of
rest, and not a time to spend working all the time ... )

but I don't want to translate the whole thing alone!

I removed the cursor key control. About HOR LVL I think disabling it would cause to much problem and question, one can
override/force a bit roll and pitch this should be sufficient to give an helicopter style flight.

Sorry I'll not correct this one as it would require too much work to make it "drivable", maybe in next version ?

Dan, you really should do a higher ambience sound. I hear nothing until I put computer volume on maximum.

with all the cabin sound in the sound file, it is a shame that we can't hear anything of it

You mean the aircond ? the radio ?

The aircond is intentionnaly low to just give a slight feeling without becoming boring
or annoying after sometime.

Okay I may reintroduce them with a disable parameter in config file.
About aircond volume.... well, maybe also a parameter ?

ok

why weren't you satisfied by the ambience files ?

I think you should keep them, and if you want to rework them, do it on a second release.

I like the air conditioning sounds. I would like to work an interior sound pack that could be accessed on the other
frequencies. I imagine that a ship the size of the Arrow would need a lot of internal communications.  (i.e. Scotty, to the
bridge- fusion generators are at 100%. You are go for power up!)

;)

Happy New Year to all!!! :friend: Recovering from a slight hangover. I don't do Champagne that much, but it sure was tasty!

Doing that would be really cool.
