From the looks of it, BETA 10 or 11 may be the Gold Beta.

Great Googley Moogley, Dan!

The Blue was really cool and has the original 'wow' factor attached in everyone's memory, but the latest, more-
detailed design in red with the blue contrasting solar array looks tops, I think.  If I was Art Directing, I'd have to give
the full approval on your latest Red design.
 :)
Can't wait to play with this... write a few scripts using Artlav's language in development and see what can be
created 'game/story-wise'.

Now for anyone who isn't a beta tester, here's the "real" purple one:

Some people (such as me and 7-10% of all males) are colorblind and have difficulty telling the difference.

This page has a good description and pictures for trichromats (that's everyone else) of how we dichromats see the world:

Nothing too big to worry about, we can still live full lives and reproduce sufficiently (otherwise there wouldn't be 7-10% of
us!)  The biggest problem is some web page and computer programs select colors that are very hard to distinguish.  Out of
curiosity, and not to get too far off topic, do you also have trouble distinguishing the two orbits on OrbitMFD when it has a
target?  I didn't even know one was yellow and one was green until someone told me.

Being colorblind is sometimes an advantage!  At work we were designing a web app for Section 508 compliance, and I'm the only
one that could tell them whether the colors they picked wouldn't work for colorblind people.  :)

I usually have to go between 'no target' and 'target' or just open tow of the MFDs. Also have trouble seeing which
line is highlighted on the Sync Orbit MFD. I have problems between blue and purple, a little of red and green, not
much red and blue, not much green and blue. Some of these are small but I have had a problem with finding red disks
in green grass. I wouldn't confuse a red and green with crayons probably though. I also have a bit of brown and red,
and brown and green seem similar to me. I couldn't distinguish red and brown M&Ms in kindergarten without putting
them next to each other. Maybe some yellow and green too, they seem similar sometimes. Ok, maybe just about
anything looks like anything! I have a VERY hard time with crayons and colored pencils. Often the labels aren't even
there.

Anyone with "normal" colour vision sees a 5. Anyone who is colourblind sees 2...

...And that's no 5... :doubt:

What if you see both?

And an 8 to top it off? :D

I see an 8 then see how it is a 2. I just added a little line in my head and made it an 8. If I try, I can sort of see what
may be the 5.

I saw a 3.  But now I see how it is a 5.

On a less :off: note, the beta testers seem to be getting pretty picky with the bugs.  The procedures they use to get
the bugs are some I would never think of doing. This is a compliment, in case you didn't get that vibe.  All in the
campaign for a bug free DGIV!  Keep up the good work, eh!

Okay, major change in power....

Previously you had an "AP power" button that powered the "autopilot"
and the computer was powered by "Main bus". That was a bit idiot
as "autopilot" run in computer so I doubt they need separate power.
Secondly I saw that some may use APU off to reboot the computer
because they don't knew it was powered by "main bus"
And third I had to clear a bug related to this and the fact that AP are in
fact powered by two buttons (AP and Mains bus) caused problems.

New "computer" button power computer and autopilots:

So, a win/win situation finally but as a lot of old code (from 4 years ago)
changed, tester will need to have a close look on power system, computer and
autopilot consistency.

Dan

Will Symphony be released any time in the future? Or has it been completely scrapped in favor of the smaller Prelude II?
