Very cool.  Another more common phrase you'll hear while driving is "tinted windows".  Police will give you a ticket if
your front window is overly tinted.   Not every Newb in L.A. knows what 'opacity' means, unfortunately.
If you needed to shorten "windows ray filter" some, I think "Window Tint: OFF, MED, HIGH" would work also.

So to take advantage of the visual splendor, flip the switch and then quickly switch to the outside camera to watch it
transition for 5-6 seconds?  I assume you couldn't smoothly make the interrior view change. :)

That's it, interior view would be possible but with a substantial loss of ramerate
as each image will be alpha filtered. A no no just for such feature.

It would be possible to surround to DG IV with some protection against the space radiation?

I think that all the spacecraft already embeds all the structural and safety items in their basic definition. And what's
the use for the simulation itself? Even if you know that there's a failure in your anti-radiation shields what can an
astronaut do except that waiting for death?

I think that it could be interesting for Dan, but a lilltle bit beyond the final scope of the deltaglider as I already
understood by following many of the the posts.

Even the collision detection with micro asteroids can be dangerous, but it would be to much. And the outher space is
still an adventure for human beings...it's the taste of a challenge.

:siffle:

Very shagadelic baby, YEAH!  Having said that, I do have some thoughts.

From what I see, the DGIV panel is getting way too overcrowded.  Buttons and switches everywhere, and all spread
out in different areas!  You said yourself, an organized computer is essential to good work.  It wouldn't be as big as a
problem if all the related buttons were grouped together and "boxed out" from other groups.  For instance, why is
the window tint switch next to the EVA panel and the temperature display?  I can live with it, but I am one with a
slight case of OCD.  Maybe I should have put that on my resume for beta tester.  ;)

Also, I think that the medium tint mode should be made a little darker because I can barely see a difference between
off and medium.

The AOA wing vapor is awesome, I have no problems with it.  :)

He'll never run out of features for DGV he can come up with anything, like optional concealed weapon systems.

I planned to do also ice on the bottom of the ship that accumulate slowly if
you stay on ground (due to fuel vent smoke) but I think I'll let drope this one...

Dan, when I saw this Ice /solar filter/wind blow thing, I wasn't able to stop me about thinking:

:hot:
What about the heat shield??!?!?!?!?
:hot:

With your "discovery", it's now easy to implement a redish glowing heat shield during reentry (un bouclier thermique
qui tourne au rouge!!!) Like this:

(well... maybe not everywhere, but at least on the heat shield...)

This "missing visual feature" is really the last missing thing in Orbiter. :hot:

But now, you could implement it in no time!  You just have to link the shield temperature with the transparency of a
red mesh!!! And you'll be the first to do it!!!

I'm sure it will look so great!!!

You have to try it!!! Pleeeeaaaase!!!!

Please!!! please...

As long as sim doesn't reflect exactly the reality we'll never run out of ideas ;)

What about replacing the bell-nozzles with aerospike engines?

It could improve realism.
