I'm not angry about people that downloaded the beta, they found a link, they download it, they didn't promised
anything, I would maybe have done the same (but I don't like personnaly unfinished addons) .
What made me angry is the beta tester that violated my trust because HE promised.

ANYWAY: By downloading the beta now end-user agree to the rules that I do not want it to be released yet. Keep it for you please.

ODD effect: somes user at final version may have a bad mix of files wich may cause bugs and will have
useless file trowed everywhere because the files have moved since beta. We might even see peoples
complaining about wrong read me text, scenarios that cause CTD and other things because
they are dated from old beta and THIS is :grrr: I don't keep my beta just to piss peoples you know.

About scrolling "bug":

Orbiter limitation:
Either I stick it on top AND bottom and it will strech on computer that are more than  864 pixel height and it will look
unreadable and you'll have loss of perf (texture stretch), either I stick it only on top and you can scroll it this way.

Solution: don't scroll it or pretend you have a wide camera MFD on the bottom of screen ;)

Dan

As promised I did some testing with TX Winged Boosters and Delta Tug
here is the report:

Both addons seem to work fine with DGIV

even if the installation scenarios are available only with DGIII, simply changing the name to DGIV appears to work
fine.

Ascent with DGIV - Deltatug complex attached to TX Winged booster were performed successfully up to LEO and
jettison of DGIV-Deltatug complex.

Also Deltatug burn phase and jettison didn't show any bug.

The only point was that switching focus from TX to DGIV and pressing F8 to activate DG panel caused 2 CTD, anyway
this CTD didn't happen 100% of cases so I'll keep tring to isolate the cause.

I downloaded the MMU gold and I'll make test on that now.

Just let me know if you need any particular test and I'll be happy to help.

Thanks for the gorgeous ship you made Dan. :turning:

Virgilio

Can't you solve the problem with, instead of changing names, copying a whole DGIV configuration?

Other ways is important also, mean there is no bug if the ship is spawned dynamically.

Great test, thanks a lot.
I hope you'll be able to isolate the CTD... do you fly often I mean those CTD appear frequently ?

Just shake it as much as you can't :)

Editor, Ummu, transfert with Ummu shuttlePB etc etc etc...

Thanks for test,

I don't know if this incorrect error message has been reported already but...

Approaching ISS on autodock AP:

Nosecone open
Outer door closed
Inner door closed

Evacuate air from chamber

Dock with ISS

Chamber indicates Empty but cannot open outer door (correct as ISS is pressurized)
system display says 'outside pressure too low, empty chamber'

(Refilling the chamber with air allows the outer door to open, as expected.)

Well that takes care of the bug I came to report. :) My resolution is 1680x1050 and I'm getting stretching on the bottom and top panels.

Are you going to re-release the link for beta 7? Several of us still have the version 6 and mine is nagging me to download a new version. I got here in time to find the link the idiot posted but I wouldn't touch that for anything. No telling what I would download.

It's looking very good Dan.
I am having trouble finding bugs, which of course is a good thing.

The hover autopilot is not holding the set up/down speed, seems to always be slightly off. Like when set to hold 0 m/s, it
will still descend very slowly.

I have also modified a few minor things in the checklist.
Do you want me to send it to you?

Otherwise it seems to work very good, and i love the new acceleration and braking effect :)
I'll keep testing.

Dan, you should be aware that orbiter has a built-in autopilot, press 'a' and you will hover at the altitude you pressed it on.

Not sure where you are seeing to evacuate the airlock. Unless I missed something, I can't find it in the checklist.

Is the light around the "Undock" button supposed to change to red when ship state isn't ready to undock? If not it would be a
nice safety feature.

Just finished a test of the Docking AP. I used DGIV and Greg Burch's DSV4. I put a tiny amount of horizontal spin on the DSV4
and aproached from behind the ship in reference to the docking port I was locked on to. DGIV AP worked perfectly. Amazing. :wor:

I tried this by hand  and had a heck of a time keeping up with the spin. Haven't tried any but a tiny spin but I'll try to
find the limits tomorrow.

the aerodynamics for the eva's need to be improved- when i lay horizontal while freefalling,
i for some reason go faster, when in reality i would go slower.

Corrected. Assumed a speed of about 300km/h (90 m/s) max with minimal CX (vertical pos)
and about 180 km/h (50 m/s) with maximum CX (pos horizontal) Data taken from
parachutisme.

This is for lower layer of atmosphere, (2000 m high) higher you'll go faster.

Will be in beta 8

Was solved I think at least I don't have it yet on beta 8. To check please

Safe mode bug:
Land DGIV somewhere, put it in safe-mode, try pressing t or r: nothing happens and it says noone on board.
Not actually a bug, but an annoying thing, especially if there is no other vessels in the sim.

Scenario editor off the surface bug:
Set DGIV landed somewhere, open scenario editor, make  DGIV dock to something, BANG, gears and hover engine is gone.

Bad host and safe mode bug: Dock DGIV to ISS, put it to safe mode, switch to ISS, undock.
DGIV will undock, but will still be in safe mode, and you can't leave since there is no power too start the APU.

After all that spam-moron-disclosure bragle i can't be sure if i got the latest beta or if it was already reported, so sorry
if it's obsolete.

Great test, thanks a lot.
I hope you'll be able to isolate the CTD... do you fly often I mean those CTD appear frequently ?

So far it happened only twice, I'll try copying the whole configuration and see if this solve the problem.

It will be my pleasure to shake it at will and report the results. :)

One suggestion if this does not involve massive reprogramming:
- woul it be possible to allow fuel TRANFER when docked to another ship?
I mean subtract fuel boarded in DGIV from the docked ship tank
I recall that a feature like this can be found on a shuttle A2 addon
I believe this would add great relism when planning deep space tranfers where fuel is a major concern
(besides oxigen of course, which is already perfectly simulated)

It's me to thank you for the fun of being a beta tester Dan
