Theres a lot of fun mining missions to dream up here that result in exotic ice monsters with sexy results.  :)

Do you know that you and Mattnw are still crew of DGIV ?
look in mission "rescue io" old stuff from two years ago I think,
will not change this, to funny ;)

A little idea of mine:

"V.I.P." - more generalised, and will allow many mission possibilities

i agree with Xianus in that some sort of VIP or official would be a nice addition. wouldnt need a special spacesuite either.

also, security people might need uniforms of their own, too. after all, police has special uniforms all over the world,
though on the other hand, as they would likely not be used too much, it might be too much work for too little benefit. hm.

Perfect color.  The Red-Shirts from Trek were always the first to be shot by Klingons  :)

I am truly honored to remain as one of the doomed Mining vessel victims from the Rescue on IO mission, despite the
slight mispronunciation.  Who wants to Reek of Chaa anyway?

As the difference is very litle I'll release Ummu (and than DGIV) with 256x256
textures and will put in folder 512 version for those that want to switch...

Notice at usual distance 15, 30 meters you almost can't notice any difference.

256x256:

512x512

Great work, Dan! Red is ideal, makes them security chaps look somewhat intimidating - ideal. And the thing with the feet,
while being only a detail, for me counts as a major improvement, too. No ruined ankles anymore.
Is the colouring of the belt, backpack and front part already finished? i'd like to suggest using a very dark tone of gray,
bordering to black, instead of that brown, just tried that on one of your screen shots in photoshop, and found that it did
look a lot better. Question of taste, though, just felt like nitpicking. ;) dirty-looking white (a bit into gray and maybe a
tiny notch towards yellow) might looks good, too.

I'd still rather launch them into the sun, lawyers i mean. Use spammers as ballast, they have the worse .. err, better
fat/rest ratio, I believe.

Having just fired my Workers Comp attorney, I totally agree with the general lawyer sentiment.
Great looking stuff!  Dan's on a roll  ...Now if only we could... could...

What if you had some kind of external program ( a bit like the DGIII settings) where you enter a class name and
choose a space suit from a list? No need to make an enormous list, and people can still have anything they want
without asking you to add them in after release.

Funny, I was thinking about that exactly 10mn ago.

A text list wich would contain the "5 letters ID" (Capt,Sci,Vip) the name of class "Passenger" "captain" "meteorologist"
and the path and name of the mesh to use ("Ummu/Ummu" for white, "Umm/UmmuP" for captain etc etc...

This list would exclude "captain" and "passengers" (orange and white) to keep at least the minimum needed.

EXEMPLE CONFIG TEXT
-----------------------------
Vip;Vip;Ummu/UmmuVIP
Sec;security;Ummu/UmmSec
Met;meteorologist;/Ummu/UmmuSci

Not a program (too complicated for basic user to understand what this config does) but just a config file in DGIV folder
for advanced users wich would make new "skin/class" for DGIV Mmu and release them.

so, in theory, i could do a neon-pink spacesuit, call it "lawyer" and release it as an additional skin/class/whatever-thingy
for dgiv?
that's fabulous.

Deeply Sorry, will not do it because of:
http://orbiter.dansteph.com/forum/index.php?topic=11998.msg184624#msg184624

So a config file would mean more time to code, more time to test, more beta... maybe more bug.
I must focus on release now... so this above will be hard coded.
