it's unique visitor PER DAY

at 00:00 the ip file is reseted

you can change that every hit is counted
(one parameter to change in the php)
but this isn't so fair:

if you hit refresh 50 time you will then have 50 more visitor

If you want to "cheat" but to keep how many
visitor came for real on your site in the stat page I can change
the script and display the "page viewed" value for the visitor...
but again this isn't too fair

OK, I getcha. Some questions:

1. I see what you're saying about the refresh of the iplog. But is there a way to reset it more
often than once per day--i.e., maybe at 06:00, 12:00, 18:00, 0:00?

2. Did you design this script yourself from scratch???

Great job.....thank you SO much for helping with this. I know quite a bit about web stuff, but
programming isn't one of my strong suits

I must fix that!

I'm going to play a bit with the script and see if I can figure it all out and teach myself some php in
the process

Oh, and another question...how hard is it for you to program using English words and
programming terms when it's not your native language?? I was trying to imagine programming in
French using French programming terms, and I realized it's hard enough in *English* without
having to think in another language! :0

1-about hour this is possible (everything is possible in prog appart making a coffee

but I don't see a big benefit appart increasing faster your counter.
the things important is to know if a visitor come back over day
not if he come every 3 hours the same and unique day....

2- I would say 70% of the script line are my work now.
(sorry for the french comment if you want to modify it a bit)

I must copy yours for my site also , its really better now

About trying php I urge you to download phpdev (link to come soon)

I'm so used to english in programation that I have no problem at all
About my comment it depend of the project,
for example I planned at first to release the source of the g-sndo
so the comment are all in english. but for the counter I didn't planned
that anyone would use it.

mhhh got it.... if you look at the stat page
nothing is counted BUT YOUR IP IS STILL REGISTERED
so when you go to page you are not counted....

I will empty the iplog.txt and realtime.txt
from any IP....

then when it will be ready you'll see that you'll be counted
