I don't have Adobe Photoshop and I am not planning on buying it, could I please get that in a bitmap format so I can make
skins?

Paint.NET can open PSD files, and is very easy to use. you can get it here: http://www.getpaint.net/index2.html

Note that you need a plugin to save it as a DDS file, which you can get here:

It also apparently needs a plug in for PSD files. Default in the drop down are the usual bmp, jpg, gif, png etc. and it's own
file types. After a Google search I found it here:

It's supposed to be that way. ;)

I made it to look like the red stock DG, since the DGIV doesn't have one, while the DGIII does.

GIMP will load the PSD files, also.

Googled and found a DDS plug-in for GIMP at http://nifelheim.dyndns.org/~cocidius/dds/ .

Just tested the configuration, using the sample "ATV" repaint. It works well, as long as one flattens the image before saving
it as a dds.

I keep forgetting to turn the DGIV skin back to the original way it was opened. I had landing gear on my wing!!

:worry:

Oh well, back to the drawing board. I have a killer idea for a DGIV scenario set, and sure enough, I want to make a
killer skin too.

Cheers,

Anyone have any idea what the UVMap is for in the PSD file? If I leave it in when I save the file it draws the lines on the
finished .dds file. When I leave it out I get a good skin. I can't see any difference other than that on the finished product.
