Now that the new Orbiter is released (yay!), I'm wondering if you have any plans on a new DGIII version at all? If so,
what can you tell us about what you're doing in the next version? Any ETA?

hehe...good question, but I think the poor guy's so swamped with stuff at the moment that if one more person
mentions the DG3 he's going to drown himself in a wine bottle or something! :)

I think it's a bit early to ask about that. dan's very busy, you know.

depending on his mood when he reads this, I may have to restrain him to help you escape his wrath in response to
your question. :)

just give it time, my man. nothing good gets done in a day, they say. :)

Yeah, I already asked him about it.

DGIV, is currently shelved, as he's busy on another project.. Hopefully either of the two will happen:
- he will get inspired (or fed up with other work) one night and just spit out a beta DGIV in like 6 hours :) (he's been
known to do that)
- he will take some time off and make DGIII code open, so people like She'Da'Lier (DGT) or Shimz(DG-EX) or Frying
Tiger(stock DGs) can merge the code in their respective versions of the deltaglider :)

Either of these is cannot be predicted and need to happen spontaneously :)

Come to think of it.. Would someone care to put together a scenario where ALL versions of the DG are parked for
comparisson. It would be neat... Let's see..
- DG  (current stock)
- DG-S (current stock with scramjets)
- DG III
- DG (previous stock)
- DG-T
- DG-EX (when available)
- DG older stock or II or whatever :)

Cheers,

I hate to say it guys, but I'm not using the DG3 as much anymore...
I find myself using the DG-S and wishing it had DG3 functionality...

It's alright.

I understand that perfectly. But when the DG4 does come out, dan will prevent you from downloading for a few
days. :)

that would be punishment enough :)

No, I agree.  I love the DG3, and its functionality is second to none.  But the virtual cockpit of the DG-S gives me a
totally different Orbiter experience too.  If I had the VC in the DG3, I'd be forever content :)

There's also McDuck's DG-X, and a few others that have 'man-handled' RogerLong's concept severly  ;)

Perhaps just the name 'Delta Glider' could become something a little more individual or creative in the future?
Quick! Stop me... I'm starting to postulate my OWN Mesh ideas for a re-entry, gliding vehicle.

I've got some concept art I've come up with after 20 minutes. It's actually a notch up from my normal, intentionally
hideous artwork! :) take a peak right here! (picture is big)

I'm pretty proud of that!

I did it in photoshop. It makes a huge improvement over MS paint, don't you think?

No, it's jam. Look in a dictionary, under jam, then under jelly. Jelly is a strange wobbly dessert.

That's Jello you are thinking of...
Anyway, it's not about the dictionary, though in the one I use, the definitions for jam and jelly (in Freespace's context)
are the same. It really only matters what you used growing up, which is a funtion of geography. Different areas use different
word for the same thing you know.
And since neither of us will change our minds on the subject, why don't we just let it drop? We've taken this too far :off:
as is.
