I argue differently. True the name comes from there, but "the earliest known residents of the British Isles were the
Celts, who spoke Celtic languages--a separate branch of the Indo-European language family tree. Over the centuries
the British Isles were invaded and conquered by various peoples, who brought their languages and customs with
them as they settled in their new lives"

http://www.danshort.com/ie/timeline.htm

The history of the language can be traced back to the arrival of three Germanic tribes to the British Isles during the
5th Century AD. Angles, Saxons and Jutes crossed the North Sea from what is the present day Denmark and northern
Germany

http://www.krysstal.com/english.html (very good reading)

We both share a language, with slightly different dialects. both are correct, so get over yourself, you self-rightious
weenie!

Ah, of course! Jam has about 3 meanings in Britain. Jamming is great fun. Though I don't really like jam (jelly).
I don't know why, I just don't.

A synonym for jam, is "preserves" (e.g. - strawberry jam, strawberry preserves). Whereas jelly is somewhat rigid and
homogeneous (like jell-o, but generously less stiff), jam is more like a very viscous syrup (like honey), and usually
includes pieces of fruit.

That's Wales, although it's mostly sheep, farmers and a cross between the two.

No, Atom.... I'm sorry, but you're wrong.
You must be thinking of Jello again, with whales swimming in it.

You can't swim in jelly! (jello) It's far to dense. Wales, is a lump of land stuck on the side of England, it doesn't really
do much, it just sits there. And if Wales (whales) could swim away it would have done by now.

Well according to popular rumour, it's the Welsh. The Scottish are however known for Kilts and Haggis.

The wind blew shortly after that picture was taken and the cameraman died from projectile vomitting.
