Is there a way to put a virtual cockpit into the DG-IV? Without massive programming, as i don't know about that kind
of stuff.  Because a standard VC in the DG-IV would make long trips more enjoyable.

Well, to make it with all the controls you have in the panels functional, I can imagine it would take a lot of modeling and
programming.

Modeling is not so difficult.
Clickable buttons are  frameratekillers in a VC.

That VC is wicked cool Pic. I can imagine that with a VR headset, but you are right- bad framerate killer.
Judging from the bad way the Beta team needed upgrades, Orbiter would be at a stand still.

Woah, Picto, that is AMAZING! That looks better than even the default DG cockpit!

Wait...You said you just uploaded it to OH...But it's not there. Or do submission haveto be manually put on
thewebsite by the OH people? Anyways, That is a great model.

I didn't upload it to OH.
Capflight is inviting me to do it but I don't think it's a good idea.

It's not an addon, only a 3DModel. Without any prog it is nothing, boring and so on. ;)
The best would be to find a coder for this, just to make MFDs and Display screens working.
I think the only one who is able to do that is Dan himself as the only way to check
flight datas is to get an acces to the DGIV.dll .... I don't really know ...

If a coder is reading this ... :siffle:

Pic's VC is cool unfortunately including it in DGIV would have
required one more month of work at least. This is why I didn't
included it. Maybe for DGV ? (In several month)

I anyway if I do it for DGV I doubt there would be clickable buttons, doing only
some would be idiot doing them all is almost impossible (perf concern and dev
time doubled)

I'd still include it in the DGV, strictly as eye-candy. Some people actually like static VC's. Personally, I usually prefer a
2-D panel over a VC-- static or interactive-- but every once in a while, it's nice to switch to a VC and pretend I'm in the
cockpit of a vessel, looking around at my environment.

and for some weird reason, no matter what i do on Orbiter, the framerates are always off the charts. i once had 30
DG-IV'sa in one scenario, and i had about 47 FPS.

30 DG-IV's

The max I tried is seven ! Impressive !
Were the whole 30 DSGIV on the same screen at the same time when your FPS was 47 ?

for some reason, i never really have a problem with Orbiter. just the CTD's, and that it. ive played tons of flight simds
for the PC, and Orbiter has the best overall performance so far!

I agree. Never seen low FRs in Orbiter even with a relatively low end computer and a Radeon 9600 Pro vid card (AGP). Wish I
could get half the FRs and smoothness in FS2004 and FSX that I get in Orbiter.

NASSP is nothing. even with a crap integrated graphics processor, running ardous tasks on Orbiter is easy. it's just
the faulty add-ons that bother me.

FSX is the worst Flight Sim for any PC, of any generation. it's slow, i just dont like it. *shudders* FS 2004 is by far the
best Flight sim for the PC. it has basically no bugs.
