So, for those of us who are limited in our knowledge of language, could someone tell me how the DG-EX is doing from
the french forum?

Wow!!!
It looks like a combination of Dg3, Shuttle and TX :)

How much bigger than DG3 is it?

"waiting for matrixs and pointers"

It looks GREAT.

The only suggestion I'd make (and feel free to put me on *ignore*) is that I'd take the docking port out of the nose, and instead have an airlock on the side in
a similar location to where an airplane door would be (behind the cockpit, on the side).  For a ship as big as the DG-EX, it seems to me that crawling through a
docking port in the nose is a bit silly ;)  If I were a passenger, I'd be asking: "Geez..couldn't they put a door in the side for me to walk through, rather than
having to crawl with my luggage through a cramped nose cone port?" :)

ahhhh, yes, of course...it's a rescue port! ;)  Silly me.  I guess the designer just hasn't gotten to the entrance port yet :)

Hey, look...as long as there's stewardesses, you can put the entrance airlock in the air intake for all I care ;)

Not very wise, then entering the shuttle to get to the steweress would be very hard indeed. ;)

Hey, DG-EX?
Of corse it's designers decision, but it looks more like shuttle than DG to me.
How about "Jumbo Delta"? Or "Delta Skyliner"? lol :)

Schimz, sorry...I was making a joke about putting the entry airlock in the air intake (the "scoop" at the bottom of the
DG-EX") :)  Never mind, it was a silly comment anyways on my part....

Well, actually I believe that if you have a vessel as big as DG-EX you should have multiple docking ports. Assuming of
course, you can solve the problem of "active" docking port selection.

- One in the front, as a service port, used to haul cargo perhaps (zero offset from the CoG axis)
- One on the side, for the convenience of passengers (especially on ground)
- One on top (TX style) as a rescue hatch directly from the cockpit (also it might be easier to dock that mother to ISS
using a top port vs. side port - think BIG clumsy delta wings!) :)

In any event I am really looking forward to it :)

Cheers,
Janez

I have an idea.

How about an extendable ramp. As shown on these blueprints for the Lambda Class Shuttle.

That woud be cool.

Hey, I'm serious about the ramp.

This DG is too small for a ramp.
And for a wider airlock, I prefer the standard APDS dockports.
One in the noze, one on the top and one in cargo bay.
