Hallo Zusammen

->
Hello together
I'm sorry to write in German, but my English is a bit rusty.
I think the DG-EX is really great, but is it possible that it doesn't have enough thrust to get into orbit?
And what do you guys think about a second version which is only designed as a passenger transporter and doesn't
have a cargo bay?
<-

I haven't tried the EX yet, because my HD crashed and I have to download Orbiter again! -.-
So I can't judge the thrust capability. But I will download it when I have Orbiter.

Cheers,

Yepp!
Ziemlich schwierig in den Orbit zu kommen! 5% mehr Schub würden dem Ding gut tun!

I just managed to reach 85 km but there was not enough fuel to stay up there! So I came down again. :(
I suggest 5% more thrust and 5% more fuel.  8)

Aaaahh!

Just managed to take off from KSC and dock at ISS! :gift:

But it's very hard indeed.  :drink:

Ammmn... ok!

But I have to say, that I only managed to dock ISS two times!
There was a whole bunch of luck involved! :)

So here are the basics:

As the manual says: Alt < 30 km Climbrate 30 / 35 m/s
                                 Alt < 60 km Climbrate 20 m/s

Now here's the trick: When reaching 60 km your trim should be set to max. Reduce your climbrate to 0 m/s.
When trim is zero again, your drag reduces and you will be able to gain speed for orbit stabilisation.

You should have about 30% fuel left. Now it's time to pray that your RInc is < 10° (some peopel do that by calculation
but i think that's boring ;) ).

Try to reach ISS :drink:

I reached ISS with about <1% fuel the first and <2% fuel the secind time! 8)

But there are really mad guys over at m6 forum who managed to dock with >30% fuel left.

You'd better ask them how to do the job. :wor:

I just downloaded it and I have to say: It looks very, very cool!!!
I especially like the exhaust visuals! They are the best I've ever seen in Orbiter!!!
And I got to orbit with 32.3 % fuel left. But it took about half an orbit to actually pick up the needed speed.
So it's still underpowered.

But it's really good work! Thank you!

I must say the exhausts are beautiful, however there is no smoke trail. You could say that the fuel used doesn't
create smoke if you wanted to, but smoke trails are nice. ;)

Damn Nice Glider.

Well balanced, fun & simple technique to get it up there.  Really responsive in the upper strat.
