On the demo map the litle blue square box that
contain your name is called a "stickers", right  ?

But how do you call that: ?

I want to add a help text on top of the map because
a red line with a green dot is a clickable (url)
while a red line with a red box is non clickable.

so I want to add something like:

legend: ????<-- text that tell the user
that if he click on this it will open the url provided by the "sticked" guy.

perhaps:

legend:  click on this to open the Orbiternauts's url

or

legend:  clickable url provided by the OrbiterNaut

or

legend:  click on this to open OrbiterNaut's Url

any other idea ?

Dan

well the red thing is an "arrow"
the blue thing can also be a "label"

i'd say any of your ideas should work, well ok they do for me ....

Andy :-)

Dan:

One slight correction:

"Staying on a dot with mouse display info" would be better phrased as:

"Move mouse over dot to display info" (it's an instruction).

Thanks dave,

I prefer your unedited version: (yes I receive all your post by mail even when you edit :)

"Hold mouse over dot to display info"

because if one "move" nothing will display (it's a tooltips you must be still 2 sec)

Sure sometime it's fun because I receive 4-5 version of a same post :)

I hope it's not the same when you check "e-mail replies to ..." below
Because I usually edit my post a lot of time.

LOL I think your intro text is perfect, Dan...keep the "bla bla blas" in there.

I'm just heading out, but don't worry, I'll write something up for you shortly (within a few hours,
whenever I get back in).  My pleasure!

Dear Sir, you seem to forget the unedited copy of some of your
post that contain *some* sensible material that *may* be sent
to some *wrong* location.... (anonymously of course)

Considering this I suggest we adjust to 35% *1
not a euro less :)

*1 (Of course I speak about 35% of YOUR income for me
and I accept only the cash, thanks you)

This said I thanks you in advance for your text considering
the new financial relation we'll have in the future it's a pleasure
to work with you :) :) :)

Dear sir I remain... etc etc ;)

"Welcome to the Orbiternaut World Map!  Orbiter attracts people from every corner of the globe,
proving that space travel, even in a virtual sense, is 'universal' to all of us, no matter where we
are.  This map shows the location of Orbiternauts all over the world; click a person's location for
more information on that person.  For more information on Orbiter itself, go to the official site at
http://www.medphys.ucl.ac.uk/~martins/orbit/orbit.html, or read the forums on this site."

How's that Dan?  I wasn't too sure about what you wanted....did you want more info put into the
little text blurb?

I think the first line should go:

>"An Orbinaut is someone who plays Orbiter, a stunning free 3d space simulator."

The rest seems fine to me. :) (although it was canadave who wrote the rest)

Krytom
P.S. I live the closest to Dr. Martin than any of you!

OK Dan, some changes that just occurred to me in looking at the site:

First of all, I suppose it shouldn't be "Orbinaut WORLD Map site" if there's no world map :)  There
are merely several continental maps.  Perhaps it should just be "Orbinaut Maps Site".

"An Orbinaut is someone who plays Orbiter, a stunning free 3D space simulator.
Orbiter attracts people from every corner of the globe, proving that space travel, even in a virtual
sense, is 'universal' to all of us, no matter where we are. The maps you can see on this site show
the location of many Orbinauts all over the world. Click on the top menu to access the map for the
continent of your choice. "

Also....is there going to be some way for people to add themselves to the maps?
