Go to the add-ons section in that same site, and download enhanced exhaust texture, as for the
re-entry, there is no autopilot

I did download the exhaust file from the site but some y it didn't work (any ideas?)

I dont really know about the exhaust, because I havnt downloaded it myself, but you can
download the G-SNDO right here, just click on home at the top of the page, and scroll down until
you find the download link.

Either the reentry flame was edited in the picture or it only works with the Mercury add-on. I have
the enhanced exhaust flames and I don't get anything like that on reentry either. I'd check it out
on the Mercury but I never can get the retro to fire on that add-on. I know it doesn't look like that
on any other ship I have.

There was talk on the Orbiter forum about a nuclear ship but I don't know if it got any further than
that. There are a number of more realistic ships that can manage long duration flights.
Hispaorbiter's Doradus along with a couple fuel pods and Fuel MFD can do a pretty good realistic
flight most anywhere in the solar system and before the forum went down someone posted a
picture of a realistic deep space vehicle (also configurable with added fuel).

I guess by nuclear you mean a ship that can boost most of the way. Most any ship could
concievably make a long distance trip if it were refueled in orbit. The only drawback would be
space for crew and consumables storage.

That picture was taken in April 19 2002 build of ORBITER. That was before the time of customizable
re-entry flame textures. And that texture you have is in fact an replacement file for engine
exhausts, not re-entry flames!
