Hi Dan,

OK, I've run all the test scenarios you've got - so far so good. Tomorrow I'm gonna hook up my 5.1 sound system to get a real sence of what's going on. Good work!

Andrey

It happens when the TEST button (any one of them) gets clicked. After the OK button is pressed, the field "1101004800" (km from planet) is selected. To solve the problem, just press Default options or change the values for "ATC delay X [1.68156e-] when more that [1101004800] km from planet" to "ATC delay X [20] when more that [250] km from planet"

ORBITERSOUND BUG

Short description:

1 - same pop up when exiting Soundconfig.exe " i must enter an integer between 0-1000000 " :
the "Delay when farther than "11010" km  --> enter "11000" instead has fixed this forever.
2 - no message "Welcome in Orbitersound...." on the screen at the firstime. ( but i launched a playback )
3 - base sound and planet sound audible from cockpit vue.
4 - NO radio sounds... again off, even after input "10 sec / 15 sec " in Soundconfig
5 - NO Mach 1 bang  ( even at low alt, near the vessel )
6 - MP3 in espace : volume input changes nothing, sounds always at max.

7 - Maybe subjective (i don't know) proportionnal wolumes between Maintrust, Auxtrust, RCS, could have been changed since the last 17 oct beta version

Severity

(serious)

hi all.

i just begin to test beta version. I also have the bug integer, when you launch soundconfig.exe for the fist time and click on default options for me this happens :

playcountdown when landed (0 change to 255)
play Gpws altitude...(220 to 255)
play docking sound at station (250 to 255)
play radar bip when...(255 to 220)
play cabin air conditioning (255 to 250)
play cabin random ambience (250 to 255)
play wind and base...(255 to 235)
on the right part of the soundconfig :
volume atc 235 to 255
atc min random 255 to 10
atc max random 10 to 120
atc delay 1.65... to 20 (great !)
when more than 11010 to 250

Argh, my error sorry, I changed the config file's size and forgot to save a new one. ->Value are offseted and wrong.
While waiting a new version (soon) click "Default Option" in SoundConfig and click "save", this will solve your problem.

Technically I'll add a control number so that can never happen again, if the control number is not right either SoundConfig or OrbiterSound will overwrite the file with a correct default file.

PM sent with first impression. Made a note of a few spelling mistakes in the doc and provided link for fixed version.
Moving on to OrbiterSoundConfig with ""Default Option→save" for now, untill new version comes.

Did you exited completely from orbiter ? the config file is only loaded when you launch Orbiter the first time.
If you launch scenarios without exiting completely it's the first setting that is still valid.

Do you have a screenshot ? it's probably a window skin problem ? I don't have it at all.

This is what I have: (XP with a skin)

Yes I exited completely everything orbiter, mp3 is always at max level!

The scenery is, I have a ship landed on the moon. The mp3 playing is always at max level!

I reproduced and can confirm this. Tested on both DX7 and DX9 clients with Launchpad→Extra→Debugging options→Orbiter shutdown options→Terminate Orbiter process checked.
No matter the setting in the OrbiterSoundConfig, MP3s always play at the same (full?) level.
