Screen shot/Thumbnail

I know how to make a screenshot.  But how to do I get it to appear in the scenario editor.  I know it is in the images folder.  But what size and specs does it need to be.

I can take a screenshot and load it in paint and crop.  but when Ireduce it it become grainy.
