Hey Dan, just found out about another of your newest project, OrbiterMag. But being an ignorant Australian, I can't speak french! Any chance of translating it?

Hello James,

It's not my creation specifically but I wrote some articles in it.
It was Well's idea (autor also of Ariane and CTV addons)

Sadelly even I find it would be a cool idea, I don't think that anyone
involved whant to make a translation first because many writters
don't speak or like me aren't fluent in english. Second because of
lack of time.

This said if anyone fluent in english/french want to make the translation
I think it would be welcome at the condition that the translation is well made
(I'm ready to make some change to the mag's site to allow both languages) :)

But as I made the translation of T3G tutorial I know this is a hell of job to
get a good and precise translation.

The last solution is to copy/past in google translate or using other translator
with a downside: at best the result of translators are funny at worse
they give often completely useless results. It's ok to get a general idea
of what a text speak about but not very much....

Cheers

Dan

Like I suggested in my post about this. I will gladly run it through google translator and upload it again IF I get permission.

Sorry, I doubt you will get it from other writters and at least I would not give mine.
computer translator at best mess completely the original text and it become more
a guess-work than a pleasant reading. If one want a poor translation he can use
translator himself but releasing such a poor work is a no-no.

Cheers

Hmm, perhaps we could make an independent English version!

That would make absolutely perfect sense. Good luck finding someone to do it.

Or... down with French! (the language)

No offence to the French anywhere. Especialy you Dan. I recently went to France, and I quite liked it (exept for the
Efiel Tower, because the lines were long I didn't go up it... and it looked like a rip-off anyway).

See? Everyone likes flattery.

Well, it was more a "from->to" language community work, finding peoples that
promise article and *do* the job wasn't easy. (when you annouce a project you
have dozen of enthousiasts guy ready to help, when you ask them to *do* it.. well)

Also most of us don't write english very well (or not at all), the mag is for now not
assured to have more than a few numbers, if it become a headeach to make
I think we'll have only one ;)

I write docs because it's an obligation but I have no pleasure to do them, article
was fun to do but only because it's my language and I can do it easily.

I second what Marty said. Galileo, if you are going to post something on an old thread, do the following (in this order):

1: Read the entire thread (all pages, not just the last one).

2: Consider the date of the last post. Don't bump posts for no good reason.

3: When writing, consider etiquette.

Please.

As said James please galileo pay attention to date not reviving old thread without an excellent reason.
If one thread is too old you can write a new one with the link to the old one.

I'll delete unecessary bumping without warning from now.

Thanks

Dan

Because it take time, and time is money...
All in orbiter world is a question of dedication, people work for free.
They do that because they have pleasure to do that not because
it's an obligation.

Are you ready to work for free for the others ?

I think you want everything, but you don't give anything...
So try to be a little bit more friendly!
I could make the translation if I had time to do it, but I surely wouldn't do it just because one guy who didn't do anything
(add-ons...) want it.
