Since alot of people including me. Never make it through the atmosphere alive, or hit a problem with the oxygen tanks where
evacuation is nessassry it would be great to have an escape pod that can hold all 5 passengers go through the atmposphere and
abosrb heat then open up a parachute and have a small oxygen supply.

You can use one of the modules from ships like soyuz or CEV.

Try the X-38 crew rescue vehicule. It was design for that. (Avsim)
But escape pods are for large vessels or orbital stations, not for vessels to small like DGIII.
It would be fun an ejection seat with the DGIII.
:wonder:
Dan, maybe you could do that for DGIV?
Of course maybe it will be useless in space but why not.
Imagine a DGIII pilot activing unlucky the ejection system :badfinger:

well he could make a larger ship with all the bells and wistels and use dgIII as the escape pod. after all in future
space flight you would be away from earth and probably on your own to get back

Or find a way to interlink and emergency EVA with the Paracone addon?

Well, from what i know the DGIV is supposed to be bigger, i dont know how big, but maybe it would be big enough to actually
need an escape pod...I like La brique volante's idea of a ejection seat for the DGIII though. That would be cool.

Even with the current DGIII, couldn't you jsut eject the entire crew area? The resulting 'mini-glider' could be equipt with a
RCS system and a tiny little engine, just enough to say, alter course enough to miss a planet, or come to a stop from
terminal velocity on earth.

How about an escape pod with all the systems like on the DGIII?
It would be fun to switch to it and switch everything on before undocking :)

How about a detachable cockpit section? The front half of the ship detaches from the fuselage, taking the front hover engine
and air tank A with it. The thruster used to get away from the fuselage doubles as a main engine. Sort of like a souped-up PB.

how about just flying the DGIII
If you get that right you don't need an escape pod
you just land and walk away

the DGIII can carry a lot of fuel, and you can refuel at the ISS before you head out
or at most orbital stations
