I removed the last trace of shared variable beetween two DGIII (was unfortunately in the ascent autopilot)
that was dated since the oooold DGII.

This mean that now you can launch two DGIII under ascent autopilot they will both (or more)
perform well.

Download corrected version, here: http://orbiter.dansteph.com/index.php?disp=dgIII
It's still DGIII 2005 v.2 but dated 30 january instead of 29.

The transworld company launching two DGIII for the same Orbiting spot:

Of course one have to be carefull to launch at the exact same time , a very litle difference at start
in velocity or altitude can end with hugh difference at top of ascent.

On the image both ended ascent with 14km beetween them (a litle diff for those velocity)

What you can do is use the PRO200SPEC7 to head both on 40° at the same altitude (say 300meter)
then you run orbiter in 0.1x time and fire main thruster in both ship.

Once enough velocity built for flying load in both vessel the PRO903SPEC40 ascent pilot
and fire them in both ship. Then stop the hover fire the post combustion and
watch them ascending.

You can follow the one that is in front of you with the "Ae35" Antena.
Once in Orbit use the com NAV on 108.00 to join the other DGIII.

Happy ascending :)

Dan

mhhh sorry that would perhaps be possible in OS ver 100 but maintaining
track of 120 sounds at least (for two vessel only) isn't possible unless
OS almost double in complexity.

Also this would be only for two vessel only.

Of course if can make only the bang but that mean that I should keep a trace
of every ship in  the scenario and compute its distance to see if it enough close
if yes load needed the sound in a special "multivessel sound" slot. etc ect etc..

That's many code for just one bang ;)

Wow... pretty cool.  :)

I smell some new scenarios brewing... anyone with some new pursuit/formation/rendevous ideas?

If only we could have scripted .cfg autopilot commands, or verifications like mission accomplished when we
rendevous with Ms. Horn on a DGIII hi-jacked by pirates, then getting her back in time for a summit meeting. ;)

Actually I have an idea, how you could trick Orbiter to support "mission accomplished" type stuff. But it would have to
always involve docking :)

Oh yeah Doc, can you change your accent scenario to work with Orbitersound 3 please. If it does work without
changes tell me, I was just wondering because things would be different wouldn't they? Like the change to the Radio
config. I don't want to overwrite anything new.

We have a conquest about that in the french forum, we must take the "Transworld company" mission
launch both as close as possible with the ascent proggy  then when the DGIII stop
its autopilot at top of ascent one must check the distance beetween both DGIII...
my personal record is 3km the second is 4km further ;)

A minor error: When I can't load settings due to the outer door being closed, I get a message "Outter Door ...." (when it
should be "Outer"  (this should really go into the BetaTesting request I suppose)

I tested it when the new Orbiter and OS3.0 came out and it worked flawlessly. I even got the impression it brought
me a little closer to the station. Try it.

I need to resume working on that. I plan on instructing the user to switch radio frequency after they make the plane
change/stationkeeping. Since both maneuvers are basically done at the same time, I can GENERALLY predict how far
from the station the player will be and then I can add some running commentary. The good old Leo Farawitz/Retro
Jackson sarcastic exchange:
"I hear you got stuck. Told you to always check your fuel before a flight."
"Not funny man. I've only got 10 minutes of air. You think you could hurry it up?"
"Gee.. I'm a busy man. And the left engine's been giving me problems lately. I need to fix that, I run a tight ship here.
Give me say... 15 minutes?"
"RETRO!!!!!! Get your arse here NOW!"
"Alright, alright, keep your shirt on" :)

It'd be great if I could get Freespace and of your you Tom guys on the project. A natural American and a natural
British (possibly cockney) accent would add to the ... irony of the situation :)

Well, if you could make it sound.. slightly.. plain.. or "worker" like. Imagine Leo Farawitz as a space miner, with Irish
or Scottish ancestry :) Either way, your worse effort will probably be better than my best.

If not, your regular British will do JUST fine.. And make the voice.. umm. what's the word.. rusty, husky, grumbly?? You know the "old space hand" type, analogous to sailors of old :)

And freespace, you just do your thing :)

You've got the job, both of ya! :) This will be fun.. I will probably add some sarcastic Flight Control remark myself.

Cheers,
