"... your oxygen supply is at 100%."

Does anyone have the original voice suit sounds from Red Planet?? I think it would be cool if we
had those voices from the movie:
"Suit voice activated, oxygen supply is at 100%" - when you start EVA with 100% O2
"Your oxygen supply is depleted, replace your canister immediatelly" - When you're out of air, of
course.

And there was another one, at about 5% oxygen left, which I can't remember by heart. If noone
has them I volunteer to record the voices and then Dan may or may not include them in a future
release of DG? *hint hint*

Cheers,

What's cool with the incoming OrbiterSound 3.0
is that you really can have 60 sound per vessel without any
problem.

Previously the Mmu used the sound slot 58-59 and 60 of the DGIII
sound, mean 3 more useless sound for the DGIII and 41 useless sound
for the Mmu.

Now we'll have 57 slot available for the Mmu.
I don't count on so much sound but it's true that some more could
add something.

Also with OrbiterSound 2.5 I was doing weird things when the focus
changed, now no problem each vessel have its hown sound and keep
its hown setting without headeach.

That's why I decided to rewrite O.S. now.

Dan

:)

That sounds cool. The separate sounds will make life in space more interesting. But for this suit
voice to work properly, you'd have to have triggers, like fuel %, O2 %, etc. And that probably
means X hours of extra programming, so I will shut up about it, as it really IS pure cosmetics,
probably useless, just fun, and as such, not as important.

Cheers,

Cosmetics... Yeah.. but then again, Isn't SOUND just bells and whistles, anyway?  ;)

Was wondering, Dan...  if you could use a few multi-lingual warning .WAV exerpts yet to test in the suit while you
have to wait for release from Martin.  Should we all start making sound warnings like "I'm sorry Dave... I can't let you
back in yet", etc?  (you could standardize the warnings) --Would that be fun use of X hours?
...perhaps Michi could do a voice set to help personify her Icon in the cat-suit ?  :)  mmmm.

Okay... time for ME to shutup about it.  :)
(Waiting is the hardest part)

The Orbiter Operating System!
That'd kick ass!!!
Think of it! You could have the MFDs display your programs, and use the DG III's long range antenna to "tune in" web pages by
aiming it at different parts of earth (from a geostationary orbit, of course). It could generate a huge "space station" out
of your directory tree which you could fly around/through.
If you want to delete a file, just undock its module from the station, and do a retrograde burn to make it disintigrate in
the atmosphere :)

Sure, it'll take 10 minutes to just to find the file you're looking for, but it'll be FUN!!

//kidding, of course

Does anyone know where to find an extensive recording of Majel Barret Roddenberry doing the computer voice?
Believe it or not, a fair number of aircraft with a "Bitchin' Betty" actually use Majel's voice,  the McDonnel Douglas MD-
88 (FMS) being one of them.

I wonder if there would be copyright problems though. The Franchise is pretty protective...

Oz: Heck, someone from the forums could do some good recordings, I'm sure, with a bit of practice.
Thing is, how many women are there on the Orbiter boards? ;)
Of course the answer is "not very many" - and I still wonder why that IS.
Meh :???:

Hmm... Bitchin' Barry?  Heh :)

hehe, everyone, get on a quest to convince their girlfriends to share the voice :)

About Majel's voice. I'm pretty sure Star Trek fansites are filled with this sort of clips.. try with www.stinsv.com for
starters. I got quite a few good clips there ages ago.

Cheers,
