Dan, I hope his name isn't "Joe Camel"!
Good luck with your quest! Do you have nicotine patches in Switzerland?

His name is "Joe Cough"
I tried patch but I'm not convinced as explained to me a doctor
nicotine chewing-gum are more adapted because you have
the famous "peak" of pleasure instead of the same nicotine dose the whole day.
So I chewing all the day -> 4mg

I'm at about a pack a day.. What a hell, are you gonna die healthy? If the smoke won't kill you,
smog will, or some stray meteor.
But seriously, I tried quitting about four times, even though I only smoke for about 2 years and
they say the best method is to just cuttoff instead of doing it in phases or using tools to help you
stop. Cutoff does require a firm decision though, which is something beyond me, at the moment
Hell, it's fun.

Well I smoke since 23 years I'm totally addicted to nicotin and I have
23 years of practice to lost, that's not easy.
About healt I have two child I'm willing to see them growing.
And last but not least we smoke only in one room (computer room)
of our house but it STINK in all the house no mater how I tried to
make the door tight.
Plus after two or three packet a day I feel like I'm 60 old the morning ,
and also I cannot feel anymore the full tast of the food.
And I don't count also the 40'000$ that I have expensed to buy this
things since 23 years.
I really wonder why I started this dumb things... I bet I was 15
and wanted to make "older"
Doctor say that a smoker try about 4-5 time before he succed,
that's my first time
Good luck, stop
now
you will regreat later the two car
you may have bought with all this money !

I promise I will try to quit again. The health deterioration is visible even after 1.5 years. The
financial aspects haven't struck me yet, but I imagine it well enough.
Cheers,

Living is unhealthy.. It's a terminal disease, noone survives life. So we might as well enjoy it

More weed, less cigarettes, Dan.
Pot makes it harder to concentrate but let's say it simulates the "G" effects and other stress factors on your brain
while doing hard maneuvers
We want you to live for a long time and maybe one day my grandson will download Delta Glider XXVIII...
Peace.

*sigh*
What can I say? You guys are all right, BUT if any of you would actually smoke, they would know what I'm talking
about (referring to the fun of smoking part).
I used to think the same way, being very much against smoking, but I've come to realise that people have the right to
live as they please even if it is bad for them
Some people smoke, some people are overweight for eating too much
junk food, some people are workacholics and some just enjoy being nasty to others
Restricting freedom is ALWAYS bad in some way, on the other hand expanding freedom, even to do bad things in the
long run reduces the occurance. Live and let live. As long as you both shall live

Doc,
I totally agree with your viewpoint, with one exception--I don't think smoking should be allowed where non-smokers
are forced to ingest the smoke
Other than that, as a non-smoker, I totally agree--people should be allowed to live
however they want to live. Next thing you know, people will want to outlaw cheeseburgers because they're bad for
the arteries!! :0

Reekchaa: And let me guess when or rather after doing what
canadave: I do agree with that as well and most decent smokers are very tactful about these things. They have no
wish to impose smoke on others. Unless they are harassed and then get a kick out of smoking the troublemakers out
of a room
About cheersburgers: Exactly! Bad influences aside, people have the right to stuff themselves with whatever they
chose to spend their money on. What is wrong with the whole setup is, that advertisments will try to convince you,
fatty cheese is good for you, greasy meat keeps your warm.. It's not a straight lie, but its a very long stretch of truth
and considering companies live off the sales of their products, also understandable, but not ethical nor acceptable.
For the record, I quit eating meat 3 years ago. As such I would have a lot to say against meat, but I chose I have no
right to impose my views to others. Also for the record before I quite eating it, I loved it and totally understand the
rest who still eat it
Incidentally, this is also partly the reason why I started smoking at 27. I wanted to understand
the other viewpoint. I was brutally against smokers some ten years ago. But to live and let live, one must take on the
roles of others. So now I appreciate the fun and enjoyment of smoking, while other non-smokers cannot.
What I did not take into serious consideration at the time was the effect of addiction!
Cheers,

In Space, the Carbon Dioxide Scrubbers get clogged and the O2 used-up much faster by the clouds of Hash ash.
