As said in news and in orbiter's forum
OrbiterSound and the DGII will be both upgraded
to get the new feature that Orbiter offer now.

What's planned ?

DeltaGliderGII
It will display the new model from frying tiger that have more moving part
it will also display the new smoke effect and will have more option on the panel
and finally I will also add it to the download section and add a special page with
more livery.

OrbiterSound
It will finally be able to play.. the silence :)
previously I wasn't able to shut down all the sound when in
external camera so you get the silence of space.
But now that Martin has added the function I requested
I will be able to add this stuff.
The external thrust sound will fade gradually into silence as
you will move from an atmospheric environnment to space.
This will add some realisme. Of course I will make this an option
in the soundconfig proggy so people that don't care so much
about realism will still get the sound from external view.

Update of both OrbiterSound and DGII will take some weeks
come back to see how it goes.

Dan

Sounds like fun Dan.

The thing about Orbiter and add-ons of high quality like yours that always gets me is the shock
when I continue to get because it's all FREE!!!  Every time I start up Orbiter, and look at how
realistic it is (even beyond some simulators I had to dish out $40+ to get), I can't help but get that
jittery feeling of it's freeware-ness.

Hats off to Martin Schweiger for this excellent program and to all you guys who've come out with
great mods to go with it for free.  :)

Later,
Tony

P.S.

On a side note, what do you mean by adding more livery?  Could there possibly be more you've
never shown us?  Oh well, guess I'll just have to wait patiently and see. 8)

free ? .... What do you mean by free ? :wonder: :doubt:

OH DUMB ME ! :wall: I FORGOTED TO LOCK MY SHAREWARE.... !!!
This is probably why I didn't get any income since two years :)

Without joke it's all about fun, we just love doing those things ;)

By livery I mean new paint scheme , perhaps blue,or other color
and perhaps different mark on it. (I was asked one time about
a "space police" version, this could be fun)

Cool. I was just about to ask about the DG II and smoke particles. I just loaded the DG II last
night into the new Orbiter version and everything works fine except the autopilot is a little off
because of the new atmosphere modeling. It'll still get me into orbit but I have to help out a little
with rudder control in the lower atmosphere. Only things missing was the movable control
surfaces and smoke particles with the DG II and the new Orbiter would be perfect.

Thanks Dan

Hi Dan,

As for control surfaces. Can you get the nose gear to turn so we can taxi on and off runway?

I'm sure most of you have already checked out this feature in X-PLANE.. using Their Shuttle,
but just incase you haven't, it's definitely worth the examination.  Austin's gear parameters are
pretty extensive.

Check out the demo here: www.x-plane.com

..and if you really MUST extend past the 10 minute demo, go here: http://cracker.czechian.net/  :)

I'm trying to download it right now for the new version, but everytime I go to open the file I get an
error that says that the file is corrupt. Before the exe was opening, but it it wouldnt fully load and
then a window would opo up and my only option was exit.

This is a common problem that happen sometime with download, the first download failed and now every time you try again the file is taken from your browser's cache instead of the site.

Go to Internet explorer "tool" "internet option" click on "delete temporary file" and try again it should now grab a fresh copy.

So come on Dan, release the new DG already! You had since april to perfect it :) and since you had
the orbiter beta, adding re-entry flames should be a piece of cake!

pretty please?

I tried working on DGII during the beta but at each
new beta release of martin all my code was broken
while many things changed and changed again.
So I stopped develloping focusing on flying only with
martin's modified things.

So sorry the update of the dgII is starting in same time
than the new version of Orbiter. Don't expect it so soon
I know I can code fast but the question is to find some time
to do it... (familly, work, etc etc) and I can't code 1 hour per day
this is useless.. often my bigger improvment is when I can
make 10-15 hours of work in one session :fool:

So if enough guy make donation by paypal to me I can
send my wife and my children in holliday far from house
so I can work quiet :)

Nhhaaa just give me sometime and I'll do it.... ;)

hey, just noticed that the new default DG has radiator panels...could be cool to add that into the life support
system. :)
Still any DG from you is a good one...going back to the default one after flying around in yours is like the
difference between kissing my sister and kissing some elses sister

Ok Dan, that makes sense.

Just waiting since April made me a bit.. impatient shall we say.

and am I detecting a plug for a donation? . If I had a credit card I probably would,
but alas I just have to enjoy the fruits of your labor for free!

and dang, nice analogy Andrew.

he he Andrew, sure nice analogy... :turning:

About radiator I'll include it in panel either as a solar panel
to help battery or as radiator to help things keeping cool.
Not decided yet...

Well according to Roger Long they're radiator panels, and the DGII already has a cooling system.

Dan, just as a little relief to those of us dying for a smoky DGII, couldn't you just do a quick and
dirty copy and paste of the smoke code from the stock DG into your code, and release it just as a
quick .dll update?  Or maybe make it refer to the new model as well?  Or is this exceedingly
difficult?

Mhhh.... it would be more difficult then that,
The DGII's code as already evolved after the
last release and the code is now in a "midle" state
of completion, mean that it can not really run like that.
There is still some bug and unwanted feature going
so I think you will not be happy with this version. Sorry.
Anyway if I'm able to get a stable version during the last
week I'll think about you.

I'll make a list of the wish and suggestion
received here or by mail otherwise I will forget
most of them.

:stupid:

Anyway I can't promise all of them will be implemented.

Dan, one MORE thing, like you need more work... but this is'nt going to put you out too far... I
wonder if you would mind if I use your DGII and make some custom paint for the exterior? I'd be
willing to make as many as I possibly could, and alot of us could have a "personal" craft.  I notice
no-one really seems to be making anything like this, so I thought maybe I'd put my own touches to
the community, eh? What do you think?

Wups! I see in an older post that paint jobs have been done! MY BAD. But I'd still like to do more detailed paints.. not just a flat color... I'll keep ya posted on some designs if you like.
