Hi everybody,
could anybody answer me some questions on the DII engines?
1) How exactly does the air intake work?
When is the exact time to turn it on/off when doing a manual ascend or when taking-off form a
planet without an atmosphere or with a low density atmosphere? How does it change the engine's
performance (fuel flow, thrust increase, any detailed data available?) and in what way do those
parameters depend on density/atmospheric pressure? Unfortunatelly there is no reference on that
topic in the DII manual.
2) Same questions on the tubo pump. Is it for example more efficient to take off from Moon without
the turbo pump?
3) There are 3 switches on the DII main panel controlling thrust vectoring (I think they were
already there on the original DI panel). What is the effect of the "comp" setting of the yaw switch?
(is there any, or is it just a fake switch by now?)
And what does the lower position of the switch read (is it CNT, COT,... can't make it out), and what
does this abbreviation stand for?
Thanks in advance
Galileo
