Art reported me that his account has been hijacked.
It was surprised to see that whoever did it, said bad things about me.
It looks like an attempt to make me be upset at him.
Unfortunately we all know that Art has contributed to the community in a significant way, just like many addon makers.
It is not working.  Do not worry Art.

Therefore it is understandable why he is target of attacks.
Every celebrity has a paparazzi behind trying to gain attention.
His contribution makes him a target.

That attempt to destroy the community must fail.  Why?
Because you may not like to stop enjoying what comes from the community.

Let's continue supporting the community and let's enjoy Orbiter!!

Last few months have brought:

* Someone hacking your account on OrbitHangar
* Troll spamming both this forum and the official forum with shock images, along with a leaked beta of DGIV
* Troll posting inflammatory comments under your name on OrbitHangar
* Troll posting under the name "ar81_", posting a mocking post in one of your threads on this forum
* Hacker hacking Art's account on official Orbiter forum

There seems to be some sort of a connection, perhaps these were all done by the same scumbag?

Well, I decided to ask mods to disable my ar81 account since some time ago.
So any inflamatory comments as ar81 or similar were not made by me.
I do not know what you mean with "shock images" or "leaked beta of DGIV".

I have just posted my addons as usual, and even I found some inflamatory reviews at OH, so I asked Vash to disable
reviews because there was some sort of abuse.

At OH the inflamatory comments as ar81 were not "ar81" but "ar81 " (with a space) something Vash already
corrected in the web code.

All this and the fact that now Art is being targeted tells me that someone is trying to destroy the community.
Art emailed me today.  I emailed Iceversaka about it...
Hope that things get corrected soon.

As admin since a long time I had numerous morons doing weird things here
not related to you, spammers, script kiddies, idiots etc etc. This is just another one
doing some weird things thinking he's intelligent. I don't think he can do
anything as "destroying the community" or "destroying you" if you don't care.

Just Keep an eyes open but don't bother too much.

Shock images are images of a gory or pornographic nature posted to cause chaos and disgust. About the leaked DGIV beta: When
the DGIV was going through closed beta-testing, one of the testers posted the link to the beta (Dan made it clear to not
disclose the beta link). Not long afterwards, the tester was kicked off the team, then made a bullcrap excuse, and was soon
after that banned. Not too long after that, while the DGIV was still being tested, a troll attacked the main Orbiter forum
and this forum, posting shock images, along with a link to an older version of the DGIV beta on RapidShare, If I recall
correctly.

OHHHH!
This explains the rude comments that have been posted at orbithangar under the name ar81.
So, because of idiots, orbithangar has decided to cancel the review system?
I'm so pissed.

Yes, I reported those rude comments to Vash and he removed the review system because of other abuses.
I am not upset.

Indeed I feel very sad and sorry about the guy who is doing that:

1.He is spending his life and not having happiness, for a happy person do not need to harm or insult anyone.
Basically he is spending precious life, trying to hurt.
How much would you pay to have a few minutes or hours more of life?
This is that someone is wasting when trying to put us down.

2.The effects of what he does is not eternal.  I saw some accounts hacked in the past, but everything is normal now.
When they hacked OH and deleted all my uploads, it allowed me to make a cleanup and I uploaded with new and
more appropriate and shorter comments for each addon.  I do not mind about the review scale.  People download my
stuff, and they like it.  Therefore, whoever it is, is wasting his life.

3.We are not $100 dollar bill to be loved by everyone.  If someone does not like me, too bad for that person.
Wasting life feeling envy about me is the best way not to do a better job than I did.  I would prefer that person to
spend some time (and if he wants to compete, then do so) so we see a better work.

4.By hijacking accounts a person risks to be in jail, because M6 is under US jurisdiction.  It is better to use talents to
make addons and get some praise, than to get a warrant of FBI knocking your door.  If he does it, I would praise that
good work myself.

5.Attacking me is a way to gain attention at my expense.  Unfortunately I am not a celebrity.  There are plenty of
more talented programmers, artists, designers around.  So at most the attacker would only make me more notorious,
instead of making himself to gain notoriety.

6.Destroying leaves no trace of destruction, for everything is destroyed.  Anyone can claim that he destroyed
something.  Destroying is easier than building something.   Destruction is a sign of laziness.

7.To spend time in such a useless and futile unhappiness, is a sign of the need of mental health.  Just like any illness,
it requires a healing process.  I might like to encourage the attacker to learn about humor.  When we learn to laugh
of our problems, we are closer to happiness.

I recall a project in Canada that used laugh to treat psychiatric patients. there was a case of multiple personalities.
She said "I have many people inside of me, but sometimes I feel alone".  This is a good approach... to laugh of your
problems, find the funny side.

The funny side of being hacked is that you get a nice reset, and sometimes start over and contact those who you
used to know, is a good thing.

The funny side is, that making rude comments and stupid postings is no reliable sign of an account being hacked. Some people
are really that way.

Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity.

I came to think rude comments and irony are an invitation to fight, and I reject that invitation.
We orbinauts have better things to do.  Addons, for example...

That's a good way to look at things. We must fight on, disregard this person, for he cannot break us.

Addon "Brighton Base Enhancement" located at http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=3150 uses material
created by me, and it does not even credit me.

I would not have bothered to post this if at least I could see me (the author of textures) credited there.
Vash also know about it.

I think the author does refer to your tutorial(s). Did you already try to contact him directly?

Also as its his first add-on, I would recommend smoothing the waves... I think aviator14 is active here, so you can message him.

I think there is a thread on copyrights at Orbiter forums.
RTM as orbinauts say...

He must correct the situation.

Of course he must, thats not only because of copyrights, but also as a matter of good manners, when copyrights don't apply.

But I would not make his life harder for his first add-on. Message him, explain the situation (in a calm way) and wait for
his response. I would expect him to just add the copyright lines, but of course, we also had people who had shamelessy stolen
code from open source add-ons and responded such requests with insults.

You know that the bug report feature of OH sends him an email. He might not read it, but thats Vashs business if he fails to
react in acceptable time.
