Ok....Ive tried really hard to read all the tutorials....and look at all the FAQs...but alas I have come up short.  My
current question of which there are many...Is HOW IN THE HECK do you get to the "upper panel" in DGIII for the life
of me I can find it. Once in F1 im being told to start the apu on the upper panel but cant seem to get there.  Can
anyone help?  or at least point me in the right direction to find the info?

Thnx in advance

are you sure the orbit MFD (shift + O) doesnt show the ApD and PeD in the 4th and 5th row down on the right for your ship and
left for the target?

On the orbit mfd display, selecting on the MOD button, should toggle between ApD (Apoapsis Distance from Surface) and ApR
(Apoapsis radius from centre of gravity).

As for extra panels. the addon is the CARM from Niven's SmokeRing. This vessel is a bit of a departure from most Orbiter
craft in that it runs on water.  More specifically, it's propellant resource is water. The water is electroyzed into its
constituent hydrogen and oxygen (for reaction products) through an algorithm dependent on your distance from the primary
star. The exterior of the craft is covered in photovoltaics, to provide the power for the electrolysis.

The extra panels come in for the control of the photovoltaics, control of the electrolysis, and better control of the life
support system.  It is presently at Beta .5 level and has not been released.

Physical characteristics of the craft: roughly brick shaped, 32m long, 10m beam and 4m in height. The Cabin is VC and since
it's my first attempt at that, it is taking some time.

I think I have more fun in developing craft for my own uses in Orbiter than I do in playing Orbiter.

No for me, with the Orbit MFD display up, sleceting on the MOD button cycles through having both a graphical
representation of my orbit and the raw data to just the graphical rep then just the raw data and then back to both
raw data and graphic.  All the while ApR remains listed in the raw data.

Hi wardogg...

I have the same problem and discovered it as I went through the wonderful "Go Play in Space"-Tutorial. It also says
there should be a button DST in the orbit-MFD just below the PRJ-Button on the right side. Couldn't find it and also
toggling the MOD-Button just cycles between the views you mentioned before.

Would be very glad if someone could help me out with this, because coming from FS2004 to OrbiterSim means taking
the next step for me :applause:

Thanks in advance...

Hello,
I think I'm right in saying that  ApD and PeD were the abbreviations used in the older 031217 version of Orbiter for
Apoapsis and Periapsis distance from the CENTRE of the body you're orbiting. In the new 050216 version it's called
ApR and PeR.

You now also have the option of switching to ApA and PeA (distance from the SURFACE of the body you are orbiting) -
use [shift+D]. Don't know why you haven't got a DST button though :wonder:

I'm glad that some-one mentioned that ApD and ApR are the same thing 'cause I had the same problem as wardogg.

But if so. why don't the numbers read as they should??

Very Lost in Space!!!

I' pretty sure it's ApA and ApD that are the same. My reentry numbers work when they are in ApA for an old tuturial
using ApD.
