This, my friend, is DanSteph Forum's VERY own and unique "Grand Useless Post Thread"!!

It started as a mockery to my own attempt of a serious conversation on a different topic in another thread, but
turned out to have a life of its own :) Started by McBrain originally (if memory serves). Currently moderated (in spirit
at least) by Freespace2dotcom.

It's our way of fighting the system, of making forums liberal again. Sort of.. :doubt: The idea though is, that if we can
unwind here, we can be more ontopic in actual "useful" threads, but it doesn't always work, hehe.

There is constant rivalry among our distinguished posters who will be the next to open a new spawn of GUPT and
hence terminate the current one. It is a delicate balance of good timing, judging when the old thread has outlived its
practical uselessness, making snyde remarks about it and getting a tentative agreement of others on the usefulness
of opening and new useless, but less useless than the current useless thread. It is quite useful to think about the
usefullness of a useless, yet useful useless thing.. :turning: (Basically, it all depends on if you are able to tell whether
or not I'm in the mood to close the current GUPT, heheheh. But I am rather pround of the monologue I just had with
myself up there!)

Feel free to be as offtopic, useless, random and wacky as you feel like.

(Spam, free sex and gentials alteration offers, lottery ads, pyramid system recruitment and other boring stuff, alas,
not tolerated, but you understand) ;)

We understand, doc. :) But speaking about alteration, take a gander at this fella.

Sorry, but there's no genitals involved.

Honestly, though. How could somebody in their right mind DO something like this? It had to hurt like hell.

Well, he did say it.. To commemorate her daughters 1st BDay. And to take anastesia would be.. well, not manly
enough. I understand, but I think it is rather.. unecessary. It'd be much better if he spent time changing dypers and
singing lullabies to his little girl. Not to mention she'd appreciate that more, than this.

I Just think that it's a little... extreme.

I snanned the entire thread, and he talked about doing it also for looks, and stuff. In any case, I dont' really care
what he does with himself, but God, not taking anasthesia isn't manly, it's called machoism. :)

I'm just a sissy, so perhaps I don't know, but I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about it.

Well, as I said. He'd be more manly in this case if he were to help out at home with the baby.. And you're right, he
didn't really do it for her, more for himself and the kid is just an excuse. And I would actually change machoism to
masochism in his case :)

Tell you what. Sissies know what is good for them. Nature made us sissies so we can survive. The brave always die
first. Our bodies are fragile and avoiding pain is just as natural as finding food. To go against that is always some
sort of statement.

Doc, the GUPT was first opened by McBrain but the idea came from me. Just thought I'd clarify that. Although when I
thought of the GUPT idea I wasn't actually intending to make a thread (or 5 threads :) ) of it. :) That was McB's
contribution.

You can have 6, Atom, but I get 12 and 16, 24, 60, and 5280.

...as pro-traditional measurement statements! :)

(all are multiples of 4, btw ;))

Well, If I recall, it was originally a more round number at 5000. which was the distance that a roman legion would
travel after 1000 paces, or as they called them, double steps. :)

It was later increased to 5280 to allow an even 8 furlongs, which I never used, nor really care for.

1000 paces vs the distance light travels during 1/299,792 of a second (to quote you doc, "ugh")

I myself know which definition is easier to visualize. ;)

But in reality, that doesn't matter. I'm just poking fun at it. :)

Edward Furlong.. that annoying kid that couldn't act on Terminator 2?

He worked out great on American History X, though.

A furlong is an imperial measurement of distance, other than that I haven't a clue.

A furlong is 220 yards, or 660 feet, if I recall. but I have no attachment to them. I think they're still used in horse
races though.
