Not to worry, young Paduwan.  Occasionally StarLost does find some pearls.

Amazing, though, that when we cast them out, the swine always seem to be there, however unintentionally.

My last comment on the downloading of copyrighted material (pirating), is that there is a common name for that behaviour. It
is the same as someone who walks in to a store and takes product or the cash register.

They are a thief.

Amazing that someone would publicly admit that about themselves.  Further illuminates their lack of character.

Free, I don't usually admonish someone who basically supports a position I've taken, but I rather take exception to your use
of this particular phrase (the "pardon my French" part).

I realize it is an Anglosaxon vulgarity, but many of the people on DanSteph's forums are French (though I live in Canada, I
was born in Lorraine, France). It is a very pejorative phrase. Maybe not so much in France but certainly in parts of Canada.

While I very much agree with you about RIAA and their nefarious ilk, please try another phrase.

Oh, yes and about the court case. Remember that most of our legal systems are misnamed.  They like to call themselves a system of Justice.  In most cases, there is nothing just about them, just law.

fair enough.

you know, I did that half subconsciously. I meant no offense, it's just that I often don't try to hide my vulgarity enough.

here I was all nice and everything and sensored the nasty word, yet I STILL have the chance to offend someone. :)

It's almost enough to make me do something crazy. ;)

Hi, StarLost & company --

Saw your posts after browsing through the prometheus-music.com traffic logs, and just wanted to say:

* so glad you're enjoying the MP3s!

* yes, they're all legal and with the artists' permission

* we posted them to share the music, and so that people can try out the album without having to buy it first.

* if you like them a whole big lot, we'd love your support in purchasing a copy (there won't be any more projects like it under it breaks even, at least from us.)

a bit higher now. :)

What do you think, dan? :)

country music is only good to listen to when you're driving in your ford pickup truck crosscountry,or looking for bugs in the
dirt,or squaredancing!   NOT...when you are in space.

Eli, welcome along for the ride, and thanks for dropping in to this conversation.  Loved the song, not so much the artist,
yet ( as I mentioned somewhere along the line I'm more in to Croce, but am a Stan Rogers fanatic !!!).  I'm sure he'll grow
on me. (editted:  Damn ... you never know who's lurking amongst forum crowd, do you?)

As to country music all, anyone remember a Johnny Cash tune being used on a trip into a black hole after an encounter with
Chiggi Von Richtofen?

No offence taken personally, my friend.  It must be hard to express oneself without the help of the BlackHawks this year.
Besides, it's much more fun to find a way to do it without the vulgarity or profanity.

Kind of like "Leave 'em laughing, or leave 'em wondering what the hell you said".

I wonder if the artists who wrote, played and produced the music will see it as "expendable crap". I have a
neighbor who plays in a Blues band. They just produced their first CD. I doubt he calls five years work expendable
crap. That's who you are stealing from. People like myself and everyone else on this board including you. People with
too many bills and not enough income. A car needing repairs and not enough to fix it.

My opinion of someone with your attitude:

hehe. I personally have great admiration for self-employed people. And I always try to support the underdog.
Whenever I eat out, it's at a mom and pop's type diner, as opposed to a mcdonalds. (it's better too.)

And even in other cases, such as with dan's fspassengers, I probably wouldn't be so interested in it to pay the
estimated cost for such a thing myself, but I just think "Dan's cool, and surely he'll autograph my copy since we know
each other" or something. :)

I fully respect dan, and would choose him in a heartbeat to Squabmerlco INC. ™©®

now, as for the big corporations, I've no doubt whatsoever that Britny boobhead spears isn't in the same position....
