IT, XM, MOD and some other tracked music files have traditionally used for games.
Here an interesting site with some tools.  Bassmod is a library that allows you to use such files in your code.

this version allows you to run VB code.  However you can't compile to EXE.
But you can create a whole project and then look for someone who has VB5 or VB6 and who can compile it for you.
