You have a point  there. You can try flying the DeltaGliderIII closer to what you are looking for.

The "/" key on the num pad switches between rotational and linear thrust modes.

9= backward
6=forward
8= up
2=down

it's possible you need to activate them first.. They may be turned off -> so you can fly with aerodynamic surfaces only..

"Alt - /" shold do the trick, I think.

Orbiter by definition is not easy.

So if you get tutorials that are easier to understand than orbiter.pdf, chances are you won't be able to apply what you learn
there in a different situation -> say to fly to Mir instead of ISS.

You have to understand the logic behind it, something that "how-to" tutorials usually don't cover.

How did you put a configuration in?

I just load up one of the existing scenarios.  What do you mean "wrong configuration"?

Don't know what to tell you about the laptop thing.  I know for sure that the numeric keys above the qwerty don't
work the same as numpad keys.  So I think you're out of luck.  Do you have a USB keyboard you could plug into your
laptop?  Also, yes, the "numlock" should be on.

hi i still am not getting any where with the DG liner engines.because they only work with the DG's that were there
first.Because there is a default scenerial editor in orbiter where i can insert new Dg's but the liner engins wont work
on them.the animations work but it does not effect the Dg.

You mean you see the exhaust flames? Well maybe the linear thrusters work, but you can't see the effect out the window.
Make the test: turn time-acceleration to 10x, go prograde and then press 6 on the numpad. Now your ecc. should change in the
orbit-mfd. If it doesn't change, something's wrong.

If I'm not wrong you will receive the highest ecc change then.

You can only move backward, forward and move left and right or up and down, you cannot change where your ship's nose is
pointing. Use rotation to do this (press / again to switch from translation to rotation.)

If you turn prograde and then press 6 on the numpad while linear control is on, your ecc in the orbit mfd should change
slowly. If it doesn't, something's wrong.

With a laptop, orbiter is harder. Try either getting a keyboard extension (USB number pad) or a full sized keyboard. You can
pick a cheap one up for under $10 ( don't know what the current exchange rate is with the Euro- sorry). All of your engines
are controlled with the numberpad keys.

Another method would be to remap your keyboard, but I would pay the money and get a keyboard for your laptop.
