Please don't post the same question in both forums.

But what is the hot key for docking your ship? For the life of me I can never fegure that one out and I had even went
through the accrobat reader file that is as the guide to the game.

Because there isn't one. The ship gets dock automatically when both vessels' docking ports are in about 1/2 meter from each
other.

So you say that if I dock with captain Kirks Enterprise at a station, I would just have to take the station with me
when I want to some where eltes?

listen my friend

to undock it is cntrl - D this will work with any 2 orbiter units that are already docked together

to dock you must arrive at the target
make your approch and dock ( there is no magic button for this )
if you craft is orientated correctly in all 3 directions and you get within half meter of the docking port of
your target it will dock

first you must arrive at the target
then approch

use the docking MFD and switch the hud to dock
every thing is explained in the manual

Would that docking was as easy as undocking ... :)

Undocking : CTRL-D, back off a ways with linear thrust, you're good to go.

Docking: Match orbits, match velocities, accelerate to near station, kill velocity, rotate, accelerate, turn, thrust, match,
turn, thrust, match AAARGH!

at least it's a good way to teach yourself patience.

Best, fastest way to experience the 'dock' is to first UNdock...
Let yourself drift straight back a bit...
Then accelerate straight forward into the docking port.

It gets more enjoyable each time you do it.     ...uhh, huh-huh. ;)

Oooo... naughty Eric.

I remember accidentally undocking the modules of Shenzhou 6 ... and trying to redock them!  Hilarious!

Docking ... yes it can be automatic ... if you have the right velocity.

Download RedShift
you can automate the whole sequence with this from take off to docking/undocking and relanding at your base

but it still takes time, and with this you only watch not participate so can get kind of boring
