Hello Dan, I don't know if these have already been pointed out - but today I found two (or maybe
three) little problems.
- First, when Orbiter says "80 Knots", it is really "80 m/s", and not knots.
- Second, when I fill the N2/O2 tanks at the base, the mass of the glider doesn't increase. I think it
should, no?

And then (but I'm not completely sure about this, as I only tried once) if I try to set the ascent
autopilot to 90 degrees, I get some problems. It worked fine with 89 degrees though.
Were these problems already known?

Thanks,
Cristian

Hello Quaxo,

-for the "80" I was aware of that (lately)

-1 month o2/n2 reserve for this ship would fit in the
hull but more won't. So either I increase the weight
realistically  and the ship will be unable to take-off
with more than 1 month either  I leave the weight
 off.

-90 degree need special treatement  because there is
a problem with banking at this value so as 90° is not really
needed I leaved this of also....  if 89 work go with it.

Dan

Dan, thanks for the answer! For the n.1 and n.3 I've understood. 89 degrees is fine for me for the
autopilot! :)
I'm not sure I understood #2 though... My problem is that, the DG's weight is always the same; if I
load it for a week it weighs the same than if I load it for a month. But even if I load it for a week
(and it has half-empty tanks), if then I start filling the tanks (with the cockpit controls), the weight
still doesn't increase...
Are you saying that you just left the weight of the O2 and N2 completely out of the weight
calculations?

Sorry if I  didn't understand... :)

Speaking as the official DG2 Documentation Assistant, I think I can answer for Dan here--yes, the
weight calculations were left off.  What I think Dan was saying in his answer is that to have the
DG2 increase weight with the amount of O2/N2 on board would indeed have been realistic; but if it
were TRULY realistic, then the ship would never get off the ground--too heavy--if you had more
than one month's supply of O2/N2! :)

Cheers,
Dave

I take it that the O2/N2 reservoirs' display show a projection at how much the supply would last - not an actual
quantity. The DGIII has a recycling system probably, so it doesn't have to carry tons of LOX and liquid nitrogen...
