The Europan government thanks all for help.

Quote
Easy fellas... You have to actually successfully get from Venus to Europa (or vice versa) before you can attack
anyone
Has anyone here actually done this without using the avsim TIE fighter or something similarly unrealistic? Anyone?
Anyone?

20 years ago, to make interplanetary trade feasable the United Nations of Earth along with a host of other worlds
conduted a great amount of research into new drives. They found one...(this is where someone else explains the
drive ;))

The drive is now default in all ships, including military. Thus allowing great distances to be travelled in a few days or
weeks. Although remote missiles have also been equiped with this drive, causing a great threat. Almost a Second
Cold War. Only much bigger.

The president of Mars is actually on a ski vacation at Olympus Mons - however he instructed me that neutrality would
be his policy in a situation such as this, and for the sake of the welfare of my own constituents, I wholeheartedly
agree. However I'd expected him to return by now. We may need to elect a temporary replacement until he gets back.

Anyway, were we to take sides in this matter, that'd pretty much halve our potential sales demographic :)

Heheh.. that's some Good, Funny stuff I've missed out on up there.

And just look at Elite Hacker, DanSteph... Fleeing Switzerland for an even MORE neutral country.  ;)

Wait.. Is that his Hackers Counterpart, Angelina Jolie ?  Crash N' Burn together again?

..and is that captain Stewie? suggesting that a 'sexy party' is about to ensue?  :)

Oh crap.. Agent Freespace just got word

DanSteph... the envy of All Hackers
Hmm... Ever notice how Dan and Neo both have 3 letters in their name?

the official word from venus is this:

We agree to allow the fugitives sanctuary on their chosen moons. however. Should they leave their chosen
refuge, then they are "open prey." The King of Venus expresses apologies to the leaders of said moons, and did not
wish to imply that a full scale war between said powers and venus was imminent. Freespace2dotcom is a respecter of
the intersolar community, and has no wish to waste excess resources over "just two men"

In other news, freespace2dotcom has engaged in talks with AphelionHellion over buying enough mass from the
asteroid belt to park in venus' orbit and creating a venusian moon in proportion to terran standards....
Behold Freespace's flag. There's no meaning behind it, but it DOES hurt the eyes. :)

Note the clear, blatant, intentional non-use of heraldry. it's not the final flag.. I just wanted to feel special by having one...

*intro music* * camera pans down to the Olympus Mons high plateau, a big ski resort comes into view, shadowed
only by a looming modernistic castle. Tha camera further pans through one of the windows into the building, slowly
making its way to the throne room. A dark figure is seated upon it, breathing slowly as it watched the many displays
on the opposite wall*

*shhh pooooh* Goood... everything is going according to plan. Messanger, send word to Prime Minister AH, I am very
pleased with his work so far. Mars's neutrality in this matter is about to end. Tell him to take station on Phobos and
await my further instructions. Contact President McBrain and tell him, his Mars Glider project stands at a point where
it is ready to be transformed into a useful fighter platform. And tell General Krytom his production is late, taking into
account the time it takes to ship the good from Saturn.. Otherwise commend his greatly for his efforts, thusfar.

*Darth Doc, ruler of Mars, switches on a special switch. A number of faces appears. Most of them bear insignia
denoting their many achievements for the Martian Colonial Army, none having a rank of less than Colonel*
Gentlemen, Venus has finally overstepped its boundaries as it was expected. The Global Space Initiative will have to
finally justify its name as the preventer of major conflicts in the solar system. You all know what do to, so good luck,
gentlemen!

*Doc turns around and gazes through the windows* King Freespace, what's you move...?

Freespace sulks in his crystal palace on Maxwell Montes. Things are not going as he had planned at all. What had
begun as a joke between him and dan has turned out to be the catalyst to a full fledged war that could very easily
erase humankind from existance. He didn't slit throats of democratic people to get where he is today just to have it
get flushed down the toilet! The nerve of everyone to start picking on him!

"Sir! Reports are that the mission to mars was not successful! It turns out that DocHoliday performed a coup d'etat on
mars and has captured the cruiser you sent! Also, earth's government has finally collased and is being scarred even
more by complete warfare" a voice echoes through the commlink.

Freespace gawked  "What? .. a cruiser.. that is expendable. prepare the entire space force for defensive positions. I
will not accept having an asteroid falling here! prepare a few thousand people to send to earth to help the people
there recover from that disaster there. we have more than enough people for that to spare since they started coming
by the hundreds of thousands.. Split the space navy into 3 evenly powerful battle groups, one for defending venus,
one for defending earth, and one for another mission to mars. I shall go myself in the Colossus* when the time is
right! Is the planetary shield system in place yet?"

"Almost, your majesty. The network itself is up, but there are still a few holes in the shielding that need to be
strengthened before we can assure it will stay up after a direct hit from the masive "death star" that is being built by
the opposition. Rest assured that the shield will protect us from a first hit, and they can not possibly recharge it's
main weapon in time for a second blast before we can destroy it.. the station itself is another matter, though.."

"Eh, that's life. Send the people to earth along with our invasion force on my signal, NOT before. We need to let the
survivors whittle down their strength before we attack. Prepare for this war. we have superior ideas and technology,
(Plus we got dan to modify the DG3 designs into a "U" wing fighter for us alone! which are being mass produced as
we speak!) and once we get Earth under my crown. we will win it! Others are already carving up earth in thier minds, why not me?"

*the colossus is a nice 6-kilometer-long behemoth from the freespace2 game, where most of my ships will come from.
not as big as the death star perhaps, but a lot faster with it's subspace drives. good for hit and run tactics against it if
nothing else. :)
