Doc: You know, I'd wondered why no ships that I'm aware of have multiple docking ports at more/less than 90 degrees from one
another. Even the stationbuilder hub modules is just a cube with 6 docking ports, one on each side.

Yeah, I guess also in real life odd angles are not prefered :) anyway, as you remember the docking list specs in the
second 3-set of numbers give the orientation of the docking port. So for example if you have: 0 1 0, this means that
station's dock sticks out into positive y axis direction. Now if you couple that with say x=1, then the docking port
faces outward at a 45 degree angle into x and y direction. I tried this and it works.

Now if you can try another example, what happens if you set the port coords to say 0.5 and 1. I'm at work, so I
can't :)

Alright, I give up... I've been trying to find CamStudio all over the place, so I could fool around making a video or
something, but I can't find it for the life of me. The links that I do get are either broken or just keep sending me
around in circles..

I'm trying to get CamStudio 2.0 as suggested on the video tutorial. Are Camstudio 1.6 (the only version I was able to
get) and FRAPS more or less the same as 2.0? Seems CamStudio's been replaced with another non-free app.

Please help? Mustard, anyone? Put it somewhere so I can grab it?

As for the sky color - I have no idea
If you google for it there are a number of essays on what color the Martian sky actually is (as well as a few
conspiracy theorists whispering to one another about how NASA hides the fact that the Martian sky is REALLY blue)
It's tough to tell from NASA photos as they apparently use either greyscale images with some sort of color
extrapolation or multi-channel images designed to get as much spectral info as possible from their data. Creating a
color-balanced pretty picture to show the public is sort of a secondary priority for them, it seems. I'm not sure what's
involved exactly, I just know there's a lot of processing required to turn the raw science data they get from their
probes into something like this:

I just download some of the martian cloud addons and it simulates the sky pretty well.

Also Mabye I could download the southern dust storm cloud and then turn the martian sky blue so from space it
would be blue(Like its susposed to be) and then on the surface(In certain areas) would be red.
This is because all skys (Even jupiter) I think are blue, but dust or cloud interferance causes the sky to appear red
(Mars) yellow(Venus) or brown and red(Jupiter).

So imagine on venus on a cloudless day the sky would be vivid blue,

and then you are dry boiled like a lobster

Moreover, I belive we should give the stations like ISS and Mir the abbility to fix their orbit on their own.  Better to
lose a battered old station than long with a sitll in good shape spacecraft!

BTW ....                                        aww crap it'l come to me later.

WELL, the ISS actually has some RCS thrusters included in the mesh. Look carefully and you will notice some red RCS
quads. Now if we were to set up thrust points and give it some nice ISP, the idea should work. ISS I think IS
designed so it would be able to correct orbit deterioration..

Cheers,

McBrain: No, but reekcha said whoever responds to his post is the winner :)
Heehee!

Doc: I figured the ISS must have some sort of RCS for basic station-keeping and orientation. I wonder why none of the space
stations I've seen for Orbiter have a reaction control system?
Particularly since all the stations I've seen are actually ships, not stations as defined in Orbiter  (I'm not read up on it
but I understand stations in Orbiter can't be moved or rotated or interacted with by ships?) I think?

Well, I'd assume that's because stations in Orbiter have only recently become "vessels". Before that, they were as
stationary as the moon. I guess noone though of it so far :) So perhaps you can be the pioneer? :) It's just a matter
of tediously looking for the right coordinates (using perhaps Meshviewer, becuase it enables that) and then changing
the cfgs.. Meshviewer doesn't work on my machine for some reason.

Cheers,

YEs there is!. The Zarya module was connected to the rest of the station in 98. That is the controls part. NASA had a
fit because russia couldn't launch it on time, and the ISS threatened to deorbit.

Mission "Get back Luna-OB" debriefing

-take off from KCS using DGIII
-moon transfert
-landed at brigton beach to have a nap at hotel
-take off, sync orbit and docked at luna-ob1 station
-burn pg to eject moon gravity
-burn rg to low velocity and fall back on earth.

reentry with an AoA 20°, 10000 m/s

mission succesfully acomplished :>

He has super powerful heat shields!

Not as many nor as powerful as mine, but that isn't all that impressive compared to what I've done thus far. better
