I was wondering how the mfds are disabled on the DGIII when there is no power to them?

I've been attempting to add it as a feature to the Vespucci D, but have had no success of yet.

Setting them to MFD_NONE disables them, but I doesn't clear the panel. The last mode keeps getting  drawn onto
the panel even if I turn them off before disabling them. Toggling them to off like the normal off switch does has no
effect whatsoever.

How did you get them to shut off? Is there a callback I'm just not seeing in the sdk doc?

Even a hint would be useful as I haven't been able to find any help in past week.
