This scenerio builder reads all the config files, so it is capable of building scenerios with add-on
bases, planets, systems and vessels. In regards to the vessels, some manual editing may be
needed if there are unusual parameters. For example, the Atlantis is the only vessel with cargo
doors and in order to be able to dock, those doors must be open. Plus, the Atlantis has several
configurations available in regards to its fuel tank and SRB's that no other vessel has. This
scenerio builder takes care of the Atlantis (and all other STS's), but manual editing may be needed
for add-on vessels.

Out by e-mail to certain alpha testers, i.e. myself. 8)
You could probably ask Russ for it.

Russel King,
I am an extreme newbie, been using harmsway web site to learn the ropes. Used orbiter for
about 15-20 hrs total now, only last week successfully docked with ISS. If you would like the
suggestions from someone so new to the orbiter sim, please send me a copy. If not i patiently
await the finished product.

Sorry Russ,
I think I got everyone asking fo a copy! hehe.
Oh well
Oh yeah, I've found annother glitch with the OSB. I tried writing a scenario with Orbiterfan's New ISS 11a. Whenever I try to set it with a preset orbit (which there doesn't seem to be anymore) it comes up with a error report and closes.
The same thing happens with other craft.

Did you know OrbiterFan forgot to include a config file in the release?

I only found out just after I posted the report.
Anyway, the problem affects any spacecraft I try.

I sent you an executable to your e-mail. If it works, it'll become a version 0.2a

Thanks
As far as I know, everything works fine.
I'll buzz if I find any more. (I seem to be the only one coming up with most of the bugs, who
exactly are the other alpha testers?)
(ok.)

Hi,
Not a lot of time to test. I just try it three times.
W2000 system.
-First, when I open "preset" menu pop up, (for orbit params) it's empty, not a surprise, ...but if I click again in the
toolbar arrow ...CDT
-Second, I finish my presets for my scenario, click on the Edit button, nothing visible happens.... I click again, ....CDT
(but, in fact, the scenario exist)
and it works
Now a request : could you offer an alternative for the physical parameters in form of :
- periasis altitude
- aporiasis altitude or eccentricity,
- main anomaly
- time to Ap or Pe
- orbital inclinaison
I think that's an easier way, especially for newbies, to put the stations/vessels, where you want them to be.
I hope to have more time to test this week.
Good job BTW.

As soon as I get a hold of the math, that feature will be implemented. The program is still a bit rough with user
interface, but the behind the scenes stuff works well.

What's the error message? What version of windows? Can't fix it without details.

I unzipped into the root directory of Orbiter. Two files are created, OSB.exe and presests.cfg. This immediately
presents a dilemma because there is no readme on what to do with this. I know this is a Beta but a least give me a
hint what to do with. Anyway congfig files normally should go into the config folder but it dosn't unzip that way so I
leave it alone puzzed.
When I run the OSB.exe it creates the following error message:
OSB.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows.
You will need to restart the program.
An error log is being created.
This is on a Windows 2000 machine. I also tried it on a XP machine but get the same result.
It then creates a file called osb.cfg which is nothing more then the Orbiter directory path.

Config file and the executable go in the same directory. It is like running a seperate program, not an orbiter add-
on.
(I think.)

I wonder if I got everything
The file I got in the mail ( OSBv02a.zip ) was only 159k. Under 400k unzipped. Is this all of it?

Yes, that's all of it for now. I can even make it smaller (a 50k executable) if I use the DLL's in the Windows/system32
directory, but not everyone has the same version of Microsoft Foundation Classes which can cause problems. So, I
compile it as a static library. There are two files in the zip, and OSB creates the other files it needs after reading all
the config files in the Orbiter directory which is why first time run takes a bit longer. The executable is going to get
much larger in the future as I add more features and resources. It will probably top out at 800k to 1Meg for the
executable plus more files will be added for documentation and help files.

I've found
another
problem with OSB.
When I 'Add Ship In Dock' I can only dock it with space stations, not other spacecraft which I put in orbit.
Just thougnt you'd like to know.
