Hi there,

I'm not much wiser from the info I've gathered so far from these forums, so I'm posting my
situation as a "standalone" problem here. I decided to get to the Moon flying my DGII. I docked
with MIR to refuel first, only to find out it's not possible. I know, I should have known it's a vessel,
not a station anymore, therefore it doesn't refuel you automatically. Besides that, it doesn't have
any fuel in its tanks. Even if I try and add fuel to MIR via the PRPLEVEL command or the FUEL
command in the .scn file, the tanks appear to be empty. Why is this?

Besides THAT, when I want to switch to MIR (in order to find out if I've changed anything about its
fuel status) and press F3, it's not listed there so I have to type "mir" manually. Why THIS?

For this reason, even the transferfuelMFD won't help me a bit. Besides that, I suspect you don't
need this MFD when flying a DGII, do you? I mean, what's the relationship between this MFD and
DGII's ability to refuel?

Anyways, I know I could sort of cheat and edit the PRPLEVEL of my DGII at this point. But I don't
want to. So I download the Soyuz tanker addon to get a realistic tanker into orbit (though it
seems to have a really mean inclination >50 for a moon trip, doesn't it?) only to find out I cannot
achieve a stable orbit with it cos I don't know how. After pressing "O" it automatically gets to
about 200km altitude after which the autoguidance shuts off and I can't really control its flight so I
end up spinning around and falling to earth eventually. The Soyuz documentation says I can edit
the CONFIGURATION value to 3 in the scn file and the tanker should be in orbit already but my
doing so doesn't change anything.

Now, even if I managed to get it in stable orbit, how would I go about changing its inclination via
the .scn file so it has an orbit similar to MIR's? I mean how do you read those RPOS and RVEL
numbers in the scn file? Or should I change the inclination of the tanker via playing the actual
scenario? Is it even possible?

In case you're still not getting this, it's pretty simple- I'm frickin' lost. Any help would be really
appreciated.

Hello,

If you really fly the DGII you must follow the check-list for refuelling
once docked. (open valve etc etc)

Hope this help ?

Dan

Hi Dan,

it doesn't help. I follow the checklist step by step and at the end I get a message saying "dock
valve error: no fuel pressure". Now I'm thinking, it can't be because I forgot to open the nosecone
while docking and did it only afterwards, can it?

mhhh... I just tried it work with the DGII docked to MIR.
Make sure all system are running (all powered up)

I got a pressure of 12.3 shown on the top of the "dock valve"
and all work.

Otherwise it's strange it would be the first time I hear a bug like that with
the DGII :wonder:

If it's still don't work can you send me a saved scenario
of this situation ?

Dan

Ok, i'm gonna replay the scenario and see if the refuelling is still not working. If it doesn't I'll surely
send you the file. But the scenario in question is your "DGII landed at KSC". Like I said, I started
the scenario, docked with mir and had to change its .cfg file in order for the station to even have
any fuel in its tank. Now I can refuel with tranferfuelMFD but still not with the DGII itself. See
my "mir, fuel and everything" topic on Orbiter forums for more detail.

Hey,

I haven't tested anything yet, but it just occured to me- could this problem arise when you are
docked at some other port than 1? I am currently docked at port 2 of mir, haven't tested the other
ones yet.

No, all port should work the same...

mhhh it's possible that odd thing happen while
the "landed at KCS" scenario was designed for the previous version.

you can try one things: load the scenario "landed at KCS",
save it with control-S and reload it again and play with the saved version
so if some vital info are missing on the original scenery
there will be saved in the one you will play.

If you are docked correctly you should have those line
if you save the scenario and look into it:

Mir
  STATUS Orbiting Earth
  RPOS 5741148.78 -206999.66 -3384421.69
  RVEL 3930.916 406.597 6647.781
  AROT 0 -45 90

  DOCKINFO 0:0,GL-01
 NAVFREQ 0 0
END

Port no. 1 doesnt work either. Yes, I think I do have this line in the scn file. Anyways, I'm sending
you the files (scn, mir config and mir original config) so you can check for yourself. Hope it gets thru.

OK, that's fine. Anyways, wasn't the movie called "Finding Nemo"? If yes, then I've seen it too, it's
a pretty good movie, the only problem is I'm not 10 anymore:)

I'm not 10 also since .. well, too much time, :wonder:
But I'm happy to have children so I can see those
movies with them... :)

About Pixar's film as "finding nemo"
I think that you must be adult to fully appreciate them,
there is a lot of things that a child can't understand,
and we laughed more than our kid with my wife.

And tonight I'm busy constructing and gluing
24 small house in paperboard for a 3d
christmas calendar that I'm doing for my childrens.

So iiiiiiiiiiiiiiijjjjjjjjjjjjjjj myyyyyyyy fingerrrrrrrr
arrrre fulllllll of glllllllllueeeeeee...

damnnnnnnn keyyyyyyyboardddd

Chrismas greeting, :)

Man... I still havent seen that movie!  It's out on DVD now in the U.S.
If that ain't a great recommend, I don't know what is. :)
Very interesting how they usually change movie titles when they go international.

Hello Dan,

I don't mean to be a pain in the ass, but have you looked into this problem of mine yet?
Cheers

No pain, glob,

I have made some test with the current version and it refuel without
problem at mir. I can't test this and correct the problem for your old version
because it would mean that I take back my old source and spend some time
to release a "new" "old" version and in my opinion this would be time
wasted  while the new version is coming soon (I hope before christmas
at least for the first beta)

So I'm sorry but I'm affraid you must wait some, anyway this new version
will have more stuff so I hope you will still be happy with it.

Oh, I didn't know you were working on a new version. That's great, I'm looking forward. But I was
only wondering if the problem in the scenario I sent you occurs on your system as well and if yes,
what might be causing it. Nevermind,
waiting for Christmas:)

Glob,

While reviewing the DGII's doc for futur add I suddenly had an idea:

Make SURE that into the DGII's configuration-program
the option "allow docking refuel" is CHECKED !

This program is located in orbiter/sound/deltagliderII
and is called DG2Config.exe....

(Btw there is a wonderful documentation for the DGII
that is located into Orbiter/Doc folder)

Perhaps it's only this option that cause your problem ?

Yeah, I checked it right when I first installed DGII. The problem lies elsewhere. It's in the "dock
valve error: no fuel pressure" message that I am getting. Just in what kind of situation did you
design this message to appear?

Then, either it's a bug beetween the old version of the DGII
and the new Orbiter, either it's Mir that cause problem !??

Did you tried with the ISS ?

Anyway, as said I'm working on the next version
and the refuel work well. I hope to have it available
as a beta before Christmas.
