I think Shuttle Fleet 3.1 has to be updated with older textures for Atlantis, Discovery, Endeavour,
cause their wing distinguishing marks were different (like on Challenger) til 1998-99. So Great
Explorations pack would have more correct look.

That is a great idea !!  The Shuttle dds's are easily found in Orbiter/textures folder and can be
changed in a 3rd party paint program such as Photoshop or Paintshop pro.   Go for it.

I did, but spent all evening, cause texture was the same after changes (at first)!
I wanted to create it the same way as OldColumbia and Columbia works.
1) I created earlierdiscovery.cfg (in that I changed references to clasname and modulename as
earlierdiscovery, earlierdiscovery.msh, and module earlierdiscovery.dll - all files were created by
copying and renaming "shuttlediscovery.*"  files.
2) I created OldDiscovery.dds file
3) in scenarios line in SHIPLIST where is
"Discovery: ShuttleDiscovery" I placed "Discovery:EarlierDiscovery"
Then I edited EarlierDiscovery.msh to change reference to another texture (my OldDiscovery.dds):
But everything remained the same!
Only 1 hour later I understood, that there must be reference to texture file somewhere in
ShuttleDiscovery.dll module.
But I couldn`t decompile that (is C++ needed?).
But, using HexEditor I found "ShuttleDiscovery" strings (in 2 places at the end of file), and replaced
them with EarlierDiscovery  ("OldDiscovery" did not work, cause I changed number of bytes
obviously - Shuttle=Earlier contain the same number of letters, that`s why it is "earlier-", not "old-
discovery"),
so old style texture a-la "Challenger" appeared at last.
I used Challenger wing textures, of course, just replacing orbiter`s name.

P.S I think that wing texture has to be with higher resolution...

Ah yes, I remember many a long evening into morning, trying to figure out textures in Orbiter.
Renaming the .dds is easy to replace any shuttle texture. It's changing the name of the mesh, is
where you run into difficulty. I agree about the wing texture needing to be better resolution. The
only thing I can suggest is making the whole texture into a higher resolution.
