I have a little crackling now and again. Anyone else get this? Is there a known solution?

Sound like a typicall DX8, perf or driver issue....

Do you have by any chance *grin* a Soundblaster ?

Try reinstall dx8 and/or lower the sound hardware acceleration
button one notch or reinstall the driver for your soundcard.

This can happen also with a low end computer, if the proc is too busy
the sound start to have some pain (pentium aren't *really* multi task)

Hope this help ?

Dan

Windows XP (sp1)
DirectX 9.0b
Asustek P4T533
P4 3.06 HT CPU
Samsung 512 Rambus     (True 1066 speed)
Radeon 9800 128 Pro      (Cat 3.7 drivers)
Audigy Gamer                   (1 Release back from what is now posted)

No overclocking.

I use other sims and play many other games and I don't experience this crackling.

I have this with the DG II but only when I first start the scenario. As soon as I fire up the APU it
goes away. And I do have a Sound Blaster. Don't particularly like that brand of card but I went up
to Windows XP and my old soundcard wasn't supported by the manufacturer anymore and there
wasn't any XP drivers so I had to take whatever sound card I could find at the computer store.
I've had Sound Blaster cards before and they've all had issues.

The most annoying sound problem I have is I can hear the ATC chatter whether I have it turned
off or on in the Setup. It's real faint and repeats the same things three or four times before it goes
on to another sound file. I have to mute the radio to get rid of it.

The more you have radio sound in a folder less it will repeat the same things
again and again. Anyway in DGII you must turn the radio switch as you do because
the DGII doesn't care aboult default soundconfig's radio setting.

I love this Audigy Gamer sound card. Nothing I have ever had comes close to it's quality (hardware
or software) of sound.
