Yep, and it's AWESOME.  Great job by Martin.  This version runs much smoother than the last one,
despite the higher-level textures.

Some niggling complaints that apparently will have to wait until Monday :).....:

1) I can dock my spacecraft at a space station docking port while at full throttle.  There should be
some sort of logic like "if port contact > 1 m/s then do not allow port docking" or something to that
effect.

2) The water on Earth, viewed from space, looks rather purplish to me...anyone else?  or is it just
my vid card/monitor settings?

And that's all the bugs I can find within the first hour...which should tell you just how fantastic a
job Martin did.  Absolutely spot on!!!

Don't forget there is new Mars texture at least available on AVSIM
now texture of res 9 are available mean that you are almost able
to see an ant on mars from orbit (well perhaps a bit exagerated but
you get the picture :) )

I saw some preview image of res 9 on Orbiter's forum the result is
outstanding. I don't know if res 9 will work on lower graphic card
but modern one should handle that.

Heh, guess I been out of the loop for a while...that happens with school work.

I just found out while browsing in the school library that the new version came out, I'm a full 24
hours behind the times.  *sigh* Man I'm getting slow ;)

Anyway, the program looks great, I can't wait to get home and try it out (thank God it's friday,
otherwise I would've ignored my homework completely last night in favor of orbiter) :)

I can't wait to see the new stuff you have in store for us Dan, but I'm sure it'll be as great as
everything else you've come up with so far.

Happy simming,
Tony

Uh, I just tried the new release out and it doesn't work with the sound module. Is a new sound
package coming out or are we back to the old Orbiter without sounds?

Oops. Got it working now. Had a file missing in Direct X.

Man... them Particles are done Amazingly.  DG2 bursting full throttle... the smoke clouds react with
each other so fluidly.   MMMMMMMMM!  Aerobraking Test Next!!!!

How did you get the DG 2 to make smoke particles? I thought you had to define that in the .dll for
the spacecraft. Did Dan release an updated .dll?

I'm pretty sure he meant he was using the default DeltaGlider that comes with the Orbiter
release.  Dan hasn't released an updated .DLL for the DG2 yet.

Yeah... thanks for that correction, Dave... I got a little used to writing 'DG2'. :)
The Standard DeltaGlider's particle burst pattern in take-off has me drooling to see what can be
done for the DG2, especially with BOOST mode on.  -- I hope the particle variables are as
programmable as Martin specifies for Dan's update DLL.

From the look I had from the original DG's code it seem yes,
but I didn't tested.

Personnaly I would like more a tiny smoke than a "diesel" like.
what ya think ?

The Massively Polluting rockets of the 60s are Back in style~!  :)

Yeah, I notice a considerable frame-rate load when the 5-mile long trail of exhaust is all in view.
A faster dissolve rate might be more user friendly.  I guess it ultimately depends on what you'd
want to assume as fuel.
SpaceShipOne should have a fairly sooty trail when it finally burns it's cheap rubber cement mix
into the stratosphere... Hydrogen's ultra clean, but white clouds dissipate pretty slowly.

I guess I'd wanna see a unique mixture... maybe Boost can add a dirty additive to an otherwise
ultra-clean burning, rapidly dissipating exhaust.  Since the Delta Glider's already pretty futuristic,
you could assume diesel exhausts will be phased out for something a lot more earth-friendly.
(At least I can Hope so).

I've loaded the DG 2 in the new Orbiter release. Everything works just fine except I keep getting a
noise before I fire up the APU. I think that's more to do with my sound card. I switched to XP
pretty quickly (My OS died and I got sick and tired of reloading Windows 98 and went to
something more stable). My old sound card had been discontinued and I had to take the only one
they had on the shelf. The new one is a Sound Blaster and I've never been satisfied with that
brand. I've had them before and they seem buggy.

Flight charistics of the DG 2 seem spot on. I haven't done any testing to see what they do to the
standard launches to ISS or reentry but I love the way the DG 2 flies now. I can rework the launch
and reentry to find something that gets me where I want to be.

I notice though that if use the Project Alpha ISS and the DG 2 close together (like docking) there's
a hit in the frame rates but it isn't bad. Everything runs smoothly enough but you can notice the
frames.

When Dan gets the DG 2 updated for the new Orbiter I think it's going to be a fantastic ship. Still my favorite even now though.
