I also found Orbiter while looking for MS Space Simulator.  I own and enjoy flight sim but i wanted
to see if anyone had done a space flight sim.
If i recall i found it on a computer at school in 2001.

By accident.
After reading the declassified SR-71 flight manual, I was hungry for other manuals and googled for "systems driving
engine 'user manual' PDF"
I opened the first entry, started reading... my heart started beating faster, I couldn't believe it.

Over the years I've been flying Sublogic's F-16/F-18, Jane's F19, Microprose F117, then moved on to astronomy,
experimenting with Home Planet, Celestia, Starry Night, . I always dreamed of programming a realistic space
navigation simulator.

I still can't believe it...
Thanks a lot Mr. Schweiger

I found Orbiter when I was looking for some planetary trajectory information. I have been a happy camper ever sinse.

As I soared through the air just starting to thrive, I crashed into the ocean and instead learned to dive...SCUBA "the other place with space"

I learned about Orbiter after I searched for Space sims at google because x-plane wasn't enough and fs 2004
only takes you up to 100.000 feet.
Thank god for such a good simulator, I can't believe it's free.

Peace.

What would be really cool would be to have the atmospheric flight provided by MS Flight Sim and then the space flight
provided by Orbiter. Maybe it could be implemented, maybe not? But I still think it would rock. 8)

It theoretically is possible! You'll have to convert the 3D-files, the textures, the flight dynamics, etc.
But you will never be able to fly higher than 100,000 feet (that means you CANNOT fly in space), because FS has an altitude limit!

Same as globalist. I was rooting about at Home of the Underdogs looking for freeware and abandonware, and
stumbled upon it by accident. And then did a Neo-take. "Whoa."
