Where did you learn about Orbiter? I read about it in a Computer Pilot magazine article.

Heh, found it about the same way, just browsing around, bored as hell... then Orbiter comes up
and I was verrrry impressed! Mr. Schweiger has really got a goodie here. (Hope I spelled that
name right.)

I saw a banner ad for Orbiter on a Flight Simulator website while looking for FS mods. Found
Martin's site, and it all took off from there...
Needless to say, I use it more often than any other sim, and enjoy it more. Of course, the best
things I got since then were Dan's OrbiterSound and the DGII.

It was an accident. I was searching for links to Jane's F-15 resources and tried using "Flight
Simulators" as a search criteria which led me to a website dedicated to Microsoft Space Simulator
that also had a link to Orbiter. I didn't know what I was getting into at the time.

I was playing lots of X-plane... the Shuttle Reentry scenario wasn't enough for me, so I searched
to see if anyone had made a REAL orbiter SIM. WOOOO!!!
Austin (of x-plane.com) still doesn't know Orbiter exists (I just clued him in)... he needs to play the
new release and Re-Think his Particles!
It's been tough trying to convert most of my Gaming friends to Orbiter, but MAN... the realism and
excitement factor had me right away!
Aerobraking through the upper atmosphere ROCKS!

I was almost thru downloading all the games that could interest me from the Home of the
Underdogs website (
www.the-underdogs.org
) when I stumbled upon Orbiter listed and
recommended there. Up to that point, the closest I came to getting any real satisfaction from my
regular computer sessions was with the game FreeSpace2:) But when I first ran Orbiter....
whoooooaaaa! I don't think I'll ever play games again.

I'm an avid Virtual Airline buff using (Flight Sim 2004). and was wondering if there was a space
flight sim out there anywhere as I wanted a more complex challenge.. I did a search in Google and
came across Orbiter. Iv'e been entangled with it since.. that was five days ago.. I can't leave it
alone now..

I found Orbiter in a Computer Gaming World magazine article on 101 Free Games.
I have been wanting Orbiter or something similar for a long time. Sci Fi combat spaceflight sims
(like Freelancer) are fun diversions, but a REAL spaceflight sim has been needed for a LONG TIME.
The last one I know of was an ancient Space Shuttle flight sim by Spectrum Holobyte in the late
80s. Ironically, this sim was titled "Orbiter".
One of the first things Orbiter does for us is teach us tremendous respect for the astronauts and
cosmonauts who are the pioneers of the exploration of space. Space travel is inherently
dangerous at our current level of technology. We (I'm American) have lost astronauts (Apollo 7,
Challenger, and Columbia), and so have the Russians. We will lose more brave people in the
future, too. However, it is incredibly important that we do not allow timid politicians to kill the
space program!
I have been flying computer flight sims since 1983. The first ones were Flight Simulator (progenitor
of MS Flight Sim Series) and F-15 Strike Eagle on a Commodore 64.
Some of you may be going, "How old is he?!?" I will be 48 next month.

I found it after searching online gaming for a space simulation program and found none. I also
searched in many computer stores like Comp USA and Best Buy but came up empty. Orbiter wihout
a doubt is the best space simulator program in the world. Free or other wise! I built a two
computer and six display simulator around it. It rocks. I have told many of my friends about it and
have given many a CD out as well.

Like Dan, I was looking for MS Space Simulator info. Either that or I was looking for some of the
old orbital sims I had from AOL back in 1995.

Heh, much like Dan I was looking for Microsoft Space Simulator.
Eons ago I had this DOS Ascii character "game" called Apollo Mission Simulator and wanted to see
if anyone ever went about to at least convert it to Windows. Or if there was maybe a newer
version of the Virgin's Space Shuttle Sim.
To my disappointment the Microsoft's sim you STILL need to buy, even though most games this old
become public, since the creators usually let them go. But no M$
)
So anyway, this add keeps poping up about this Orbiter thingy... I thought it was some Nasa
shuttle site and pretty much ignored it for a while. Then I saw someplace (I think it was also
Google search results) Orbiter... simulator... free... great graphics, and I was hooked

I also found it looking for Microsoft Space simulator.
I have been flying flight sims since I was like 8 years old on an Atari 800XL with the Flight simulator
Before Micro Sloth took it over. I think it was By Bruce Atwick Orginization. Back then good
graphics were a green ground and a blue sky woow. Anyway I have digressed, point is I think this
is the best of any of these sims out there!
My Deepest respect to Mr. Schweiger, and all the other developers out there keep up the good
work you all ROCK!!!!!!
Humbly in your debt
