AI would be possible,
I think about this since a moment to populate the scenery.

AI vessel would be granted by your ship, follow themself their autopilot
and delete themself if they are to far from you. You can have a lot of traffic
with this principle.
This would ROCK with the next version IF AI vessel have also
particle smoke... imagine seing the shuttle taking-off while you sit
on the ground.

My idea is to populate also the ground with truck that come
when your landed and other funny stuff.

but shhhht this is a secret... :)

Multiplayer would be a tricky things to do while
directplay is a :worry: things to program (at least with dx8 the last
time I had a look)
Also as pointed by someone at 20'000km/h there is great chance that
your meeting will be short and that it will be some boring mission (one wrong
burn and... goodbye see you in 200 orbit :)
So I wonder if the time expanded to program that will be very valuable.
(of course for player it would be a cool stuff)

Oh and about AI I had do some test and was able to see the G-SNDO
taking off under automatic pilot from another vessel....
bad things is that Orbiter hide object when they are at some distance (too short
for my taste)

but it was fun to see the glider turning and following the autopilot's trajectory
from the ground.

If you want to try it do this with a vessel that DON'T have a panel G-SNDO don't like
switching vessel with another one that have a panel. (Orbiter crash)
the shuttlePB is fine for this.

So AI is possible.
