Hi all - my first Post here - sorry for my non-perfect english ;)

Has anyone some tips on deorbiting and Landing at a base?
And what is that ship "jumping" on the atomsphere approach, and how can i control it? (I once have seen A
Star trek chapter where a young Officer was flying in a shuttle, who wasnt able to escape the g´s from a
Planet - Jean-Luc radioed him to approach atmosphere at straight 90 degrees so that he would bump off the
atmosphere (of course the french Captain was right ;) ) - is this something like that ?

Thanks for your help in advance

P.S. : a (working) website with a Landing manual is okay too

Hello,

Bumping is possible but I doubt a 90° aproach will do the job :)
it will only do a nice barbecue (but hey it's star treck ;)

if you download the 11 march G-SNDO and the new doc there
is a whole tutorial in it that explain a complete deorbiting/reentry
and landing at base. "right on the money"

Look my main page about the g-sndo download link and into
my add-on forum for the doc's link.

Thanks very much!

I thought this would only explain landing WITH the onboard computer...

Anyway, where do i get those colored Surfaces in Map MFD Mode? (As seen in this Tutorial)

onboard computer is just here to maintain your attitude (AOA, heading, bank)
nothing that you can't do manually.
But it's true that another vessel may behave differently (glide better or worse, etc etc)
Anyway the tutorial principe is the same for any vessel

About map they are at www.avsim.com but I can't recall wich download you have to do
some search :)
