I did a quick conversion using pdf995 + pdf edit… The result: 1883KB (with clickable links) against yours 1010KB :D (wow)
I then noticed something strange with your version (image on page 37): I downloaded the CIB Word Plugin and converted topdf… The result was the same… The image on page 37 still continued with a smaller size. (No clue about what is happeningthere… With the complete CIB Brewer tool the image is ok – a few KB are added to the final filesize - but I then loose thelinks – still have to check that)
Summing up:I think that both programs are cool: in the Word CIB Plugin I miss the option of creating bookmarks and a few others from PDFEdit… By other hand, PDF Edit has not a so effective compression feature as the CIB plugin.Anyway, I was thinking about editing / optimising a little the images by making a few cuts, removing unnecessary backgroundsand converting them to greyscale. That would perhaps compensate the lack of heavy compression on PDF_Edit and that’s why Ipreviously asked if you had at hand the same pictures but in a non-compressed format: that way I would be able to produce newjpgs with the tools I have here and with the optimisations mentioned above (but the current jpegs are also ok as working base).
b]-------------------------------------------Now, 2 more questions / comments: -------------------------------------------[/b]1) Do I make the image’s optimisation + production of pdf with bookmarks + active links (using PDFEdit) or do you prefer the current result (with the word plugin)?
2) Must confess that since I saw your web page for the first time, with all the precious info about video editing, I thoughtseveral times about asking if you would be interested in my "html services", I mean: the production of a simple site with alateral menu at the left side (for the main chapters) + one top frame for the site's banner + one main area (below thebanner and at the right side of the menu) to display the contents. The text in the content area would have a format like, for example, I use on my site.Paragraphs, fonts, titles and link colours would be all controlled by a simple style sheet: this would make the web pagesvery simple and easy to update even with just notepad! But, for a reason or another, I never sent that email.
Now back to the questions:a) do I make the pdf (please see above)?b) are you interested in a new html version? (the site would be modular, bilingual and could also be zipped and workperfectly offline; the counter could be the same and the top frame - with menu + banner + contents area - could also continue to be called "Orbiter_screenshots_and_videos_.htm")Let me know what you think about these 2 topics AntónioPS1: if you wish both, choose the one you would like to see first :D
SimFan a écrit:Hi again, Antonio En résumé :1.
it slightly contributes for a more direct and quick navigation of the pdf
a few small problems with the conversion of certain types of links
2. Have here a new version of the document with:
Now, the small problem I'm facing is when wanting to place a picture on the left side of the text: it looks ok in Word, it exports ok with PDF_Edit but, with the CIB Word plugin, something “bad” happens.
I'm trying several approaches (even the use of tables) in order to see if the CIB plugin correctly converts those particular (2) pages. For now I'm using the CIB plugin because I haven't yet started to work the images and because I'm having a few problems when using PDF_Edit to generate a certain type of links.
SimFan, if you want I can send you the current word document but please have in mind that I’m still researching the problem of the bad conversion of pictures when they are at the side of the text (this is partially solved: fixed one picture but have another that is giving problems)
3. Additional Chapters: it would be a matter of just following the current formatting options if you like and decide to keep them
4. My talk about the site:I was referring to this page:http://jeanpaj.free.fr/Videos_JP/Orbiter_screenshots_and_videos_.htmThe current pdf is based on that page isn’t it? Since the first time I saw it that I was thinking about if you would like tohave all the info organized in a more structured web page / web site: that organization is already taking place with the current work around the pdf… From my side, it would be relatively easy to convert the information on the pdf / link above and build a simple site.
SimFan: tomorrow I will try to send, at least the word document (want first to fix the little problem I wrote about above)
picto a écrit:You can't but you must ....

"The TRIM line in the scenario is from my dll, but it just sets the initial value for the trim. If theres no TRIM line, the trim is centered (neutral) at startup
