I was so excited to see OrbiterSound 5.0 released unfortunately, I'm having problems with installing it. OrbiterSound50_20200811_setup installs the package to my Orbiter 160828 folder but if I run a scenario, there is no sound and I get the following error in the Orbiter log:
============================ ERROR: ===========================
Failed loading module Modules\Plugin\OrbiterSound.dll (code 126)
[Orbiter::LoadModule | .\Orbiter.cpp | 600]
===============================================================
Suggestions and solutions greatly appreciated!

Just a Microsoft library missing, we'll sort it out no problem.

If you don't mind, can you try to run Orbiter after each library install so we can see wich one was missing on your computer ? (I'll add it in the FAQ)

1-Try DirectX https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109

2-Try https://aka.ms/vs/16/release/vc_redist.x86.exe

3-Try https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=48145

Thanks

Incredibly excited to have this update to OrbiterSound, and to know that UMmu, and UCGO are in the works! I’ll let you know the outcome of installing the libraries in a bit. Thanks Dan!

Sorry about the delay, I had some errands to run before sitting down with Orbiter. I first installed DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer and voila, OrbiterSound 5.0 was fully functional! Then I installed Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015. I didn't install DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010). The installer requires the user select the folder that the runtime library is extracted to but I had no idea where to extract the files.
Bottom line, OrbiterSound works! Thanks for your help and thanks for your great work!
