I know that it is impossible to have DG docked to Arrow while on ground,
BUT...

1) orbiter provides ways to have objects connected even on ground. like cargo grappled in shuttle's bay
2) i've seen addons allowing to transport that little space-station-assembly ship inside shuttle, so I guess that cargo can be anything, including other vessel.
3) so, my question is - is it possible to have docked vessel grappled this way? OR is it possible to somehow "emulate" docking using this grappling mechanism?

I know, only Dan has Arrow source code, so only he can do it. I only ask whether it is possible or not :)

Yes this is possible, but would require that the "mothership" be coded to do so. It may not work well with vessels that have attachments.

vessels with attachements? you mean space shuttle? :)
I guess it has to only work with DG/DG4/XR1/XR2 becouse other simply won't fit :)

The XR-2 uses attachments for cargo, but it shouldn't be a problem since the dependancy chain is valid. THe cargo is attached to the XR, which is attached to the Arrow. However, I'm not sure if the cargo mass will be considered by the Arrow.
