Just discovered a problem. I'm using Orbiter Sound v3.5 in Orbiter 2010. I was trying to adjust the volume of many of the sounds only to discover that it wasn't making any difference in the sim. If I disable the sound by unchecking the item it will be disabled in the sim. But, no matter what value I give an item for volume it always plays at full volume in the sim.

I Should add that the volume adjustment works fine in Orbiter Sound config when the 'test' button is pressed.

So I reinstalled Orbiter 2006 P1 and installed Orbiter Sound v3.5 into that. Same problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Well upon further testing I need to be more specific about the problem. The volume controls in Orbiter Sound Config do effect the volume of most of the sounds. However the one sound I found unaffected was the sound of the main engines when you are inside the cockpit. When in the 2D cockpit of the default Delta Glider the main engines sound plays at full volume regardless of the setting in Orbiter Sound Config.

It also appears that Orbiter Sound Config does not effect the volume of the sounds produced by the DGIV.

I'm trying to figure out if I'm having a problem unique to my setup or are these issues, infact, just the way things are.

i think the DGIV has sound built in, note: if you turn off cockpit ambience altogether, it still plays.

this means that the DGIV has sounds built in to the actual craft rather than using the sound addon, so you need to find the source of the DGIV sounds and change them from there.

having said this, this is just what i think, i cant say for certain

good luck
