Hi guys and thank you dan for all your hard work. I am a experinced astronaut in orbiter but not much in scripting usually if I want something in a scenario I find one similar and simply copy and paste whatever line I need.

Ok here's what i'm trying to do. I want to start a scenario with arrow with the dgiv already docked and ready to go.
What is the proper line I need to add? I know u can start a scenario with dgiv already docked but the only samples I have are docked in space and i'm not sure what lines to delete and or what lines to add.
I have searched the forums and the internet in general and haven't found any example.
Like I said my intelligence in scripting is limited and an example line would be perfect.
Thank you in advance for any help or advice.

Welcome jb42682 !

First of all, it is impossible to start a scenario with a DG-IV or any other vessel docked to a mother ship (the Arrow in your case) landed on a planet/moon because Orbiter can't do this. You absolutely need to have the Arrow in space to achieve a dock between him and another spaceship.

Next, I will learn you a very simple and useful way to create a scenario. You load a scenario that looks like the one you want. You also need to activate Scenario Editor in the modules tab. Then, you press F4 and click on Custom. You select Scenario Editor then click on OK. In the next panel, you can modify your scenario like you want. Explore a bit and you will understand every tab.

To save your scenario, you press [ctr] - and exit Orbiter. Your scenario will be in Orbiter\Scenario\Quicksaves.

Good luck ;)

Thank you for reply. I have been playing with the scenario editor and here's what happens. I'm using the ai car dance as my base I then add the dgiv. If I do already docked to the arrow it puts both the dgiv and the arrow in orbit with the dgiv docked and a broken nose cone lol. I have also tried to just add the dgiv and manual dock on earth! But i have found this to be more difficult then space + the nose cones close I guess cause I intiated the hover engines. I have also tried to edit this scenario and dock the dgiv. All it does is break the nose cone but the arrow recgonizes it as docked but the dgiv is on the ground. Wait it gets better. Just for s%*#'s&giggles I intiated the arrow's hover engines of course there at 60e6. It instantly thru me out of the solar system I would guess one light year in a split sec.

I've been reading the forums and you guys take the arrows procedure's very serious. No doubt. My issue is. How in the heck do you get cargo to it mid orbit with out flying ten missions in the dgiv. This why I gave it "High Gravity" landing and take off capability so I could load it up in about fifteen minutes + It's just really freaking sweet to watch it land on earth.

In conclusion I have decided to go the old fashion way. I will fly the arrow to the moon and leave it in high orbit. I will then fly the dgiv there and top off and drop of some cargo like a good old demolition crate;) Once that's accomplished I will then dock with the arrow. This will set me back about a week from orignal scheduel. And if your wondering I always do "vessel to vessel" docks at the moon It just way easier and takes less effort even though you waste the time and fuel getting there it just the way i've always done it.

Once again thank you for your response and advice. I hope further updates will be more flexible towards other functions of the arrow but please don't get me wrong I love it!.

Two things. To avoid the "broken nosecone", create the DGIV in orbit, then use the "animations" button to open the nosecone, then position the DGIV to be docked.

Second, it is IMPOSSIBLE for ships to be docked when one or both are Landed. This is a known issue with the Orbiter core, will cause a CTD, and has nothing to do with the DG-IV or Arrow.
