Hey guys, I'm new to Orbiter and I just added DG IV the other day and I love it. I just downloaded the ISS UMMU
compatible add on and started the program with a DG docked at ISS.

I shutdown the glider and got the message telling me the crew had moved to the space station.

I switched control over to ISS where the menu appeared as it should. My glider was docked yet I was not seeing any crew
on board the space station.

Any info would be greatful.

this is normal, if you turn of all items on the DGIV including the apu and don't leave on the epu and battery on, you,
the crew and the ship go into a "sleep mode" until you turn eithe the apu or epu on, but you can still operate the eva
panel, as long as you don't eva your pilot first, otherwise your crew is stuck until he or she(pilot) comes back.

Well, I would not call it "normal" because I tested it and the message really was "Crew have boarded the mother
ship". I have never done it before in space. When landed, the message is less specific "Crew unloaded the ship".

I guess this is just something Dan did not code. For example, "if docked to UMMU-compatible vessel or landed on
UMMU-enabled base, then transfer the crew to the other vessel/base as a part of entering safe mode". But I can
understand (or at least think I can understand) some of the reasons he would not do it:
* What if the other vessel is also DGIV already in safe mode?
* What if the total crew after the transfer would exceed the capacity (not sure if there is such thing) of the other
vessel/base?

So, just think of crew entering some sort of hybernation and don't pay too much attention to the message ;)

But I the ISS UMMU add-on enables the crew to EVA from the space station, not the DGIV. Thats my dilemma, because the
ISS is telling me there is no crew on the station (despite the message saying the crew has left the DGIV)

I was just trying to explain that you should not think of putting DGIV in safe mode the same as whole crew
performing EVA / transfer to the other ship. Yes, the message states so, but in fact it does not.

Oh my bad, must've been a little overwhelmed by a couple of big words there lol.

Cheers mate, I'll run it again when I get the chance and let you know how it works out.

Hey guys, got a chance to play around with it and performing eva while docked transfered them over to the ISS. Thanks for
the input.
