whats the fastest time anyone has had so far  WITHOUT USING THE TIME BUTTON? I propose a dg4 race !

You can refuel on the iss
Cargo is up to you but more points for the extra weight !

I am starting this saturday  my trip

The moon in 6 days!

You know, they did it in 3 days back in the apollo days...

But six days without Time Accel?

I have to learn how to type better:stupid:

i did mean three days to get there from launch to refuel at iss to tlburn to lunar orbit...refuel either in orbit or on
surface base and back to iss then to cape canaveral

can you refuel the dg4 on the wheel space station?

i am going to try it with dg 3 too and save some screen shots to submit

Why do you want to refuel at the ISS? The fuel spent for the plane change maneuvers is simply too much to make it worth it,
and besides, the DGIV in it's default ISS/moon configuration has more than enough delta-V to make it to the moon without
refueling.

I am trying an emergency rendezvou with the iss like what NASA discussed doing with the sts instad i am useing the
dg4 i am not taking on too much fuel just enough to cut the trip time down a little there was a lot of discussion on
other forums on the quickest way to the moon and this came up as a possible solution you are right thou maneuvers
may be cutting the time down too much ill give your idea a try but........

can you refuel with the lunar space station in orbit? like on the iss? with opening the fuel hatch?

:help:

In fact, with the DGIV, you can do the earth to the moon in less than 24 hours easily...

I don't know about the lunar station, but you can refuel if you're landed at Brighton Beach, which is even easier than
docking in orbit with a rotating station. And there's more than enough fuel to do that, too.

ill give the lunar base a try to see if you can refuel

it would be great though to continue the challenge w cargo for example pick up water from cape to iss upload film
cargo to lunar base take o2 from lunar base back to lunar space station and then take bio experiments from lunar
base to cape for a end!!

fun cargo run!

i prefer useing the shuttle a  for cargo runs though

I took this thought into consideration. Wouldn't there be an optimal weight to propulsion ratio? I would think
depending on your configuration that you might need more fuel. After all, if you are shooting for a very fast transfer,
the burn would be longer. Also, the longer the burn, the longer the burn will need to be to achieve orbit.

BTW, the thread is pretty old. Where are the screen shots?

Cheers,

Anyone want to race fastest time to mars?
(With either the choice of fuel on default or big trip, your chioce but big trip fuel makes the ship too heavy, oh and you can use what ever one you like, it doesn't matter.  Take screen shots and make videos so that you don't get bored or eva every once in a while)

Six days strait. Thats crazy. I would have no patience for that. What happens when you're 10 feet from the moon
after that six day voyage and you get a CTD. that would make me want to through my computer out the window.

:worry: :hot: :worry:

Maybe that  too.
